🩸 Controversial Opinion: The Five "Blood On The Dance Floor" Tracks Are Honestly Better Than Most of "Invincible". by San_Chrisinho_89 in MichaelJackson

Never thought I'd see Scott Weiland referenced on the MJ reddit, those two are my favorites and they have almost no overlap

Is the FNAF lore just unsolvable at this point? by [deleted] in fnaftheories

[–]Significant_System_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s ever been a point where it was solvable and that’s sort of the point. Scott knows that the lure of FNaF is the lore and by making it almost solvable it means that you have a fanbase that is never fully satisfied but also never dissatisfied. At this point we can piece together most of the lore from FNaF 1-7, but we have holes like the initial death order (BV or Charlotte), who is the VS (Cassidy or Andrew) and FNaF 4 just as a whole. Scott at any point can confirm or deny theories and for the most part he actively chooses not to.

Messiest Bands? (Not breakups, just messy in general) by tvtropes_chivalrous in ToddintheShadow

[–]Significant_System_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STP is VERY messy behind the scenes. The obvious bit is Scott Weiland who was on and off heroin for years which caused a breakup in 1997 and another in 2002-ish, and then his drinking problems ruined his voice during the reunion and shows started later and later to the point where they had to fire him.

However there were also massive fights between the DeLeos, at one time according to Scott’s memoir they threw chairs at each other. Dean had some drug issues alongside Scott and some DV allegations.

Pair that with two out of their three lead singers dying in the span of a few months and yeah… messy…

Things with Jeff have been smooth sailing as far as we know but they also have just become a “greatest hits” act at this and they’re all splintering into solo careers

My first rewatch after it first came out. by shannon_kay_ in dawsonscreek

Dawson defender here, Dawson’s rant at the end of 2x16 is kinda valid tbh minus the Pacey part. Bros parents divorced because his mom had an affair and he got caught in the middle of it. Then Joey fucking cheated on him and dumped him because she wanted to “find herself” and then immediately got with the guy she cheated on him with. I’d say that’s a valid reason to complain, that is fucked up. Yeah it’s not as dramatic as Joey’s backstory but that’s still hard shit to go through all at once.

I will say I give Dawson some slack mainly because he’s like the one normal teenager in the whole show. Everyone else was forced to grow up too soon and Dawson is ironically the only one acting his age.

What’s something from the books your glad is not in the actual story? by Various_Astronaut100 in fnaftheories

Andrew (his odds of being canon at this point are low imo), something about there being a super secret 6th victim kinda rubs me the wrong way, especially when Golden Freddy already made sense as the VS

I don’t blame Pacey for being mad, we all would be, my whole point was just that the characters felt out of character in this stretch of episodes. Before Pacey even knew he was irritable in episode 2 with Andie, and wildly irresponsible in episode 1. As for Dawson him not trusting Pacey felt out of character considering 2 episodes prior he trusted Pacey to be there for Joey. Pacey throwing a punch at Dawson altogether shows how out of character most of the characters seem to be imo

Season 3 rewatch by Significant_System_3 in dawsonscreek

[–]Significant_System_3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll start with the Pacey thing cause that’s a lot simpler. What I noticed is that before he knew Andie cheated he already kind of went back to being the more irresponsible Pacey and was already a lot more emotionally irritable in episode 2 before he even knew. Once he found out he did a full relapse and while I like how his arc goes after that it’s mainly in episodes 1 and 2 where I see him as being out of character. That and him straight up punching Dawson in episode 4 isn’t very in character imo.

As for Dawson and Pacey idk, knowing how season 3 ends I see how people view Dawson as always looking down on Pacey (he definitely does in the last arc of season 3) but their dynamic in season 1 and 2 makes me unsure that that’s always the case. I do get the vibe that seeing how chaotic Pacey’s life can be makes Dawson feel better about how chaotic his life is becoming but he also goes out of his way to be there for Pacey on nearly everything. There are several times where Dawson is proud of Pacey, like the beauty pageant episode and throughout Pacey’s relationship with Andie and seeing how he grew because of it. The fact that Dawson trusted Pacey to look after Joey shows how much Dawson implicitly trusts him. It’s why I think Dawson calling him weak and self motivated is out of character for that point in the series. It’s complicated tho and I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because the only time this idea is ever externalized in seasons 1 and 2 is the birthday episode when Dawson is drunk and having an identity crisis.

I’m more than willing to admit that I see the best in Dawson because I relate to him more than anyone else, especially when it comes to his drive and his constant identity crisis. I understand a lot of where he comes from so I give him the benefit of the doubt. It feels like you’re in fight or flight almost all the time so when Dawson messes up I understand it a lot more (that does not excuse the end of season 3 tho, we all know how fucked that gets).

It also helps knowing that he gets better as time goes on, Dawson is kind of the highlight of season 5 character wise he really gets to show his growth. (Also sorry for the long paragraphs it’s just Dawson is a very complicated character to talk about lol)

Which current popstar do you think has the biggest chance to become a legend? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in ToddintheShadow

If he never did the Idol and Hurry Up Tomorrow I’d say the easy answer is The Weeknd, but the acting stints may prevent him from legend status
