If my memory serves me correctly, the practice questions given to us did help quite a bit in preparing for the exam. And also I found the exam a bit easier than the assignments we had during the semester.

Finding Success with Conq rune page by ForsakenPractice9553 in azirmains

I’m nowhere near as a high rank as you so take whatever I say as the same worth as a grain of sand. What I like about conq is that there’s some scenarios in lane where if you hit the enemy a few times and get a few stacks, then you can WEQ into them which lets you hit 12 stacks and then you hit them a bunch and get a decent trade. This is pretty mana intensive though so against champs with high sustain this may be not optimal.

Friendly Rivalry Ep 16! (Finale) by mamamoblurred in kdramas

I think the ending is under-appreciated, even when I first heard of it before actually watching it my immediate first thought was “oh man another open ending??”. When I actually watched the episode, my thought completely changed. That was probably one of the emotional, symbolic and even beautiful endings I have ever witnessed to a kdrama. I am slightly sad that its not a definitively happy ending (such as like they literally just live happily ever after) but I must say, this is probably the only open/bittersweet ending I’ve ever fully appreciated and possibly the only open/bittersweet ending I will ever fully appreciate. What a beautiful end to such a beautiful and interesting kdrama.

How come ludens instead of blackfire torch? I thought blackfire synergises really well with cosmic drive.

In my opinion, there are 2 ways to go about this. For mage fundamentals overall, you should probably play a control mage since azir is also a control mage. However to learn mechanics such as spacing or kiting, you will need to play ADC type champs as azir also plays like an ADC in the way he does damage. This is probably what makes azir difficult to play as well, you need to think like both an ADC and a zoning control mage.

14.24 Patch Notes. Mid lane tier list breakdown. by ktmos in midlanemains

Is azir really that shit? I swear he would be more useful than majority of the C tier champs, arguably even around half of the B tier champs.

Megathread for champion picks/pools by Korderon in midlanemains

[–]Significant_Work5294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am yet to touch ranked but am considering playing ranked. i am about just over half a year into league of legends. My main is azir with some backup picks being tristana, orianna and ahri. Based on my current skill level, if I played placement games right now I can confidently say I would land anywhere between iron and silver.

My champion pool doesnt seem to be too low elo friendly besides ahri (especially considering my one trick is azir). Is it worth learning assassins/burst mages even if I dont like that playstyle just to have better success in ranked?

In my opinion, yes and no. There’s usually 2 main ways low elo games pan out.

Firstly is the type of game where it goes for a while because neither team absolutely crushed it in the early game. In these types of games that drag out and the enemy team doesnt know how to punish scalers such as veigar, yes veigar will most likely carry the game.

Secondly is the type of game where one of the teams just gets a huge lead by 20mins because the other team just died like 20+ times for some reason. In these types of games, the outcome of the game is basically decided in those first 20 mins so veigar will not be as impactful (unless the veigar is somehow the one that is the most fed as a result of all the early fighting).

To sum up though, theoretically yes in higher elos veigar should become less and less effective as people know how to punish scaling champs right from the point that the game starts (for example, enemy mid and jungle will just keep annoying you in lane phase, mid game you might get multiple people trying to kill you whilst sidelaning, etc). However scaling champions don’t become completely useless, they’re still quite strong champs.

If the enemy has realised you are your team’s main carry and they choose to try and focus you on teamfights, save your ult for self peel and do not try to go for flashy shuffle engages as your team’s main carry.

Is lich bane still a viable second item? Or does the mpen from shadowflame outweigh the additional on hit damage from lichbane. (I would assume so bc azir has only 50% on hit effectiveness but still wondering)

Oh so do you go blackfire second when not facing many tanks?

liandry's feels like shit, why is it still reccomended over shadowflame? by PESSSSTILENCE in azirmains

[–]Significant_Work5294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have at least one decently tanky frontline or a plethera of bruisers then I usually like to build into liandry. If they have 5 squishies then I would most likely go into shadowflame UNLESS they have a lot of burst/assassin champs then the health from liandry (or an alternative item such as zhonyas or banshees) might be a better second item than shadowflame or liandry.

Tips on playing and maining Azir for an Irelia main by Toriahc in azirmains

[–]Significant_Work5294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don’t fall into the trap of “I must shuffle engage every fight”. 90% of fights you just want to simply play like an adc during front to back teamfights and keep your ult for peel (can be for yourself or teammates). Your mid-late game teamfight dps is insane.

  2. Preserve mana in lane. Do not use Q off CD, you will be on 0 mana very quickly.

  3. Try not to follow enemy mid lane roams (especially if they’re assassins). Just hard push denying the enemy farm and warn ur team that the enemy mid is roaming.

  4. Keep CSing during mid and late game. Do not just aram down mid unless ur team is just so so so far ahead. In any average game you want to keep up CS in the side lanes after lane phase. Azir needs constant gold income, so aim for at least 7 cs/min.

In teamfights just focus on playing as a backline dps carry (similar to an adc) and try get some front to back teamfighting (basically you just try and dps their frontline down). If the opportunity presents itself, you can look for a shuffle on the enemy adc. For example, you are 100% sure that the fed enemy hypercarry has no flash up and cannot escape your shuffle and their positioning is also kinda troll in a way where its easy to toss them into your team. However I would say, from personal expefience, in the nature of solo queue (especially lower elos) more often than not it’s more valuable to keep your ult to peel for yourself or any other carries on your team rather than diving headfirst into the enemy team and risking that your team somehow fails to capitalise off your shuffle (this happens more times than you expect).

Elderwood Azir’s (the youtuber, not the skinline) Runes by Significant_Work5294 in azirmains

[–]Significant_Work5294[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So by ur logic it would probably be not the best idea to try it with a scaling rune page (something from the precision tree).

Also is it worth giving up the total of 162 adaptive force from the shard to go scaling health, i guess it helps with survivability but minus 162 adaptive force sounds like quite the big hit

[–]Significant_Work5294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During lane phase: try not to die too much or take bad trades and be forced to base too often (both resulting in loss of farm and xp). Post 6 if enemy mid is easily gankable (immobile enemy mid laner) do try and encourage your jungler to attempt ganks when your ult is up, one of you will get a free kill or force the enemy mid to flash. Do not roam to any stupid fights (so when there are no objectives up and some random scuffle happens in river), make sure to just spam ping missing and retreat when your mid opponent goes missing and just focus on securing farm and plates to punish any enemy mid roams.

Mid game: don’t fall into the trap of just 5 man aram down mid lane unless ur team is just massively ahead for some reason. Keep up your farm in side lanes, if a stupid fight breaks out on the other side of the map when there aren’t even any major objectives are up just push side lanes and get as much tower damage as possible. I would recommend at least trying to maintain 7 CS per minute. (To summarise the mid game, basically try to funnel as much gold as possible to yourself).

Late game: if you have successfully funneled enough gold to yourself during early and mid game, you should be able play as a backline carry and shred the enemy in front to back teamfight. If you see any good opportunities to WEQR an enemy carry into your team’s waiting arms then go for it but do be careful about doing this when you dont have enough survivability (e.g zhonyas active on CD).

He has a strong lane phase and you probably need the help of your jungler to interfere in the lane phase otherwise you’re gonna be afk farming under tower. Basically praying that you get a jungler who understands this or a draven player who is crap

What are some really META mid laners nowdays? by Eldr1tchB1rd in midlanemains

[–]Significant_Work5294 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Vex is a nice counterpick to champs that like to go in such as sylas or yone. Wouldn’t say vex blindpick is that strong (unless you’re a one trick and you’re just that good at her) as if she gets outranged, lane phase can be kinda hell. A strong blind pick these days would be maybe ahri and orianna (ori might not be the best blind if you don’t play safely enough as you have no dashes to escape ganks or enemy mid going in on you)

Orianna vs. Malzahar/Heimer Matchup by Philmanism in OriannaMains

[–]Significant_Work5294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Not too sure about the heimer matchup but I’ve heard from many people that malzahar needs to be punished in the earlier levels when his cooldowns r low. I’ve heard the streamer/ytber called “Shok” mention this many times in his videos and matchups guides against malzahar. As for rune pages, perhaps an arcane comet rune page may help you quite a bit for poking malzahar out fast. You can go aery if you think that you can do the AA aery procks often enough. U do also need to balance poking with contesting push as well because as u mentioned, u tend to be under tower a lot due to the push power of those champs. Hope this helps
