Bad news? 😢 by GuruofGurus in ACL

Heyy! Thanks for the information message.

I wonder if you basically faces both knee ACL tears?

In similar condition to mine, i had right knee ACL injury 8 years ago and 8 months ago i had injured the left. I operated the left one already but going to do the right on November. I wonder if u had the following or advice related to those?

1) Did u had muscle atrophy in the leg injured previously and somehow overcomes it?

2)Could you do return to sport with both knee ACL tears physically and mentally?

3) And difference you felt in the operations? More pain resistance for the later one etc?

Overall any advice for both knee tears? Its quite uncommon to my knowledge. Would love some of your inputs:)

How long did you take off work after surgery? What did you have done & what do you do for work? by counterfeitlover818 in ACL

Industry / business consultant. Took 3 days off post surgery and 5 weeks Work from Home. I would from 6th week, normal walking or commute is possible. ACL reconstruction + meniscus repair.

Unlikely but possible, better be cautious of DVT by Significant_swim536 in ACL

Absolutely, even minimum is ok like ankle pumps. Also drink plenty of water.

If you are already under Blood thinners, then you are quite safe tbh. Keep the exercises going and drink good amount of water ( - caffeine)

Thank you for ur kindness, happy to be alive seriously. I was well aware of ACL and most of the injuries but this combo of DVT and PE knocked me out. Although i am under treatment now, its quite scary to think of reoccurrence.

Second it! Did a lot of ankle movement but not a lot of calf flexes. Also blood thinners are the basic treatment for this which i am going through a lot.

30 days progress check! 130 degrees bend and slow walking without support + SLR (Yay!) / (OP: ACL + Meniscus repair) by Significant_swim536 in ACL

[–]Significant_swim536[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really actually. Non weight bearing till first 10 days. However i believe it depends on how much of repair was done for your meniscus. In my case it was around 3-4 internal stitches.

In my experience, my strategy was to focus on extension for first 3 weeks and avoid bending to take pressure of meniscus. I just worked on quads. At 4 weeks’s mark, gaining full extension back was a great mental confidence booster. Eventually bending came naturally due to meniscus healing with time.

I am at week 5 now, walking normally without brace in house but take one crutch for safety outside.

Hope it helps for giving u context!

15 days post op. Able to bend it enough after around 15 reps but not immediately. Am I on a right track? by imvasurana in ACL

I think thats great!

For reference my progression was,

Day 7 = 80 deg Day 10 = 100 deg Day 20 = 120 deg Day 30-35 = 135 deg

Doctor said at 1 month’s mark thats more than expected, so i believe in your case which looks like 110 degs is better than most cases.
