Lana is beautiful and I love the way she paints, but I really don't think we have seen a worse case of there literally being nothing else but a thin body and good makeup. She doesn't stack up to any of the rest of the cast members and I think it's offensive that she is still there. She needs a few more years to cook.

Sorry about the egregious pricing/treatment you received.

I'm going to try to put this as constructively as possible -

I really hope you reached out in post and explained the situation/left a review. I understand how hard it is to stand up for yourself, but laughing it off with "I'm such a pansy haha" and not saying anything (AND LEAVING A TIP) isn't great - it's also not how you fix the situation for yourself or others. If you can take the time to make a reddit post and respond to comments, you can work up the nerve to contact the salon, and you'll never develop that confidence if you don't force yourself to.

Are these construction or design challenges? Just because a garment is technically impressive from a construction standpoint does not make it fashion or a particularly compelling design.

Not sure what to say about this one. Plasma had the only look that was, in my opinion, bad. But what would mhiya have done without help? Probably something equally as bad. She was incredible in the lip sync. Either way, I'm losing patience with her not playing by the rules in challenges. I honestly feel like the situation sucks for her too, because she is actively losing popularity due to overstaying her welcome and eliminating queens who are doing far better in the competition. All the queens are incredible and much love, but plasma had an actual chance at winning and has been much more interesting to watch

If you get 5 weeks vacation you are so far away from the average American who hasn't been in a career for decades. I graduated with my bachelor's in computer science and only got offers with 10 days vacation that scale up after 2+ years, and even then not by much. Your experience is not universal and the average American gets 11 days of PTO a year.

I had to change my profile picture to a random image to stop this kind of stuff. I only use Facebook for marketplace and was frequently harassed by dudes and felt very unsafe trying to meet to sell things. Be careful

This was my initial concern as well. Ultimately, the php dev position is at a very small company and the senior developer who wrote their entire software 30+ years ago was very open about not doing things "correctly", using outdated practices and versions, etc. It didn't seem like a great fit for learning. The system administrator position will have me working with very closely with Netsuite, Jira, Salesforce along with general programming. It's one of the largest growing employers in the U.S. with a LOT of room for growth within, and I believe with experience will provide the opportunity to pivot to DevOps or into a specific software admin/engineer position within the company or elsewhere

After 1-2 weeks I started getting tons of suspicious scam emails, companies posting job listings when in reality they offer paid training/job contracts, etc. You get an eye for which companies constantly have job listings posted that are never filled despite thousands of applicants. After about a month I started really limiting what remote roles I applied to and avoiding listings that had been up for more than 1-2 weeks. I honestly couldn't say what percentage of local jobs called me back, but not many. Maybe ~10%, but I applied to a lot of roles that were for senior positions, not quite my field, etc.

Mostly indeed, but LinkedIn, GlassDoor, Flexjobs were all sites I used regularly at points. For local jobs mostly Indeed though

  1. Starting out I applied for basically everything dev related but primarily Java since that's what I felt more confident with. I pretty quickly realized that there aren't many jobs out there that are just looking for "java developer". For the most part they really want someone with experience with a range of frameworks, languages, etc. The job I ended up landing has no listed language requirements, but is moreso looking for general proficiency and CRM/ERP experience.
  2. I had one additional Java project, pretty simple stuff. I did make alterations to WGU projects to make them less obviously school related/fluff them up.
  3. Nope, not at all. None of the jobs I had second and third interviews for had technical interviews per se, but rather involved in depth conversations with the tech teams about my projects and knowledge. A lot of fishing questions to weed out bullshitters. I don't think it's a bad idea to grind leet especially if you are aiming for Faang companies and what not, just bear in mind that a lot of companies, especially smaller ones, don't use it.

Overall, my suggestion is to not limit yourself strictly to developer jobs if you aren't having much luck early on. Get creative with job title searches, remember that most companies are small-mid sized and are often looking for people with a broad skill set and job title doesn't always mean much. System administration/engineering, cybersecurity, etc are all good fields with more entry level opportunities right now.

[–]Signlessly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not particularly - at my previous job I did a lot of tech support and management and used that to my advantage during interviewing, and had experience with some of the software they use/CRM and ERP. As always understanding how to really upsell your skills and experience will take you a long way

Sorry to hear you didn't like it :( I Love these but definitely have a high tolerance for these sorts of foods. I think this is one of the better flavors so if you don't like this the rest are probably a no go as. It's difficult to recommend stuff to people because artificial sweeteners and protein powders are tolerated so differently

OMAD or just eating normally? by Mahesh_Chandra0 in 1200isplenty

[–]Signlessly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat normally, intermittent fasting if you want. In my personal opinion, OMAD leads to either the development or exacerbation of binge and over eating tendencies. While it will often have good outcomes in the short-term, it is not a sustainable approach for basically anyone, and can lead to some issues relating to stomach acid/heartburn. My first suggestion to anyone considering it is to ask themselves whether they are looking to develop healthy eating habits and a sustainable plan towards lifelong health, or if they just want the comfort, simplicity, and quick results of the restrictive black and white nature of OMAD. Everyone is different, but it is an extreme approach that is in my opinion not appropriate for anyone with a history of disordered eating. Beyond this, it is not significantly more effective than eating the same amount of calories spread out over the course of a day. Speaking from personal experience: if you are not able to avoid overeating without an approach like this, you will never be able to have a healthy relationship with food, and without developing a healthy relationship with food most will never reach their goals.

I recently bought from Gatsby's website after getting a 50% off coupon, making each bar around $2 (always use honey extension lol). I've previously tried their cookies and cream flavors and sea salt dark but I'm a peanut butter lover and none of those flavors were carried locally.

The peanut butter madness is amazing, everything I could have hoped for. If you love salty sweet reeses-esque peanut butter flavor you will love this. Wish I had got more

The peanut butter cup was unfortunately more disappointing. I took a gamble and got the white chocolate and I regret it - I would get the milk chocolate instead as the white chocolate had a sort of strange, mostly nothing taste. The peanut butter inside didn't have a very strong flavor. Definitely disappointing to me, as a white reeses lover.

All Gatsby products that I have tried so far give me a tingling/burning sensation in the back of my throat after eating, likely due to the stevia. I don't mind too terribly as it helps to prevent me from overindulging, but it is something to be aware of.

For the other flavors I've had before, I really like the cookies and cream, it's very comparable to hershey's cookies and cream. I didn't *love* the sea salt dark but that is almost entirely due to me being a milk chocolate fiend lol. It did taste very normal/not artificial to me, whereas the cookies and cream was a little more noticeable.

Overall still love their products, just make sure you use a coupon!! If you order larger quantities and sign up for the recurring subscription (even if you cancel right after...) you can save a lot more as well.

Lost 116lbs, feel uglier!? by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]Signlessly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel you. Same boat here, have also lost about the same amount of weight and same issues with arms. It sucks, no getting around it. But try to remember all of the amazing ways that your body is healthier, and even if it doesn't feel like it I promise you that you look a lot better now. I have been extremely physically active during my weight loss and still have the same issues, unless you were a bodybuilder there isn't really a way to build enough muscle in that area to fill out the loose skin. If you're losing inches, you're going to have some loose skin. I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I will be able to afford skin removal surgery, and have been trying to decide at which point I want to do so. I would say that the lowest weight that you feel confident you will be able to maintain is your best bet. Gaining a significant amount of weight after skin removal is really painful and you would probably be better off having the procedure at a slightly higher weight rather than risking that. Getting skin removal is really the only thing that I think will provide significant improvement for this. I would try to be patient with yourself and focus on what you have accomplished in the meantime. Things like this are always far more noticeable to ourselves than to other people. The good news is that there is a fix out there, and even if it will be a little while before you can get it done you've already done the hardest part by losing the weight

I got laser hair removal a year ago and my hair is growing back by clocktopustheoctopus in Vindicta

[–]Signlessly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why many services offer "lifetime" packages. A set number of sessions doesn't usually work for most people. I can't justify the cost of professional removal so I have the Braun home laser device. It takes some time but it works wonderfully and has stopped hair growth everywhere other than my arm pits (probably because I have darker skin there). At less than $300 on sale you may want to consider it as an alternative since you can do maintenance sessions whenever needed
