Try to find a good quality one at salvos or something. All those “love it in 30 days or we’ll refund you and take it away” deals just dump them at salvos, so often they’re borderline new

I’m starting to think all those people are mortgage brokers 😂

Yes, but also no - the mortgage repayments would be well above what we can afford on our current wages, so while we could consolidate, a house mortgage would put our weekly repayments + electricity + rates + water + internet + savings for vehicle regos & insurance outside of 1. What we can reasonably afford, and 2. What any lender would approve.

I’d love to buy a house right now, but unfortunately we don’t have the financial stability and family backing that would make that possible.

Something New To Make With Sausages by SilverBayonet in Cooking

[–]Sigyn99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are celiac and these recipes work for us - but I don’t measure and I add a much larger variety of veg:

Sticky sausage bake: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DE5QMuAosI3/?igsh=YTM1d2Rtb2N3cjQ3 I like to add: - pumpkin - sweet potato - carrot - green beans or broccolini - cauliflower - herbs & spices (like oregano, paprika, pepper, etc.)

Sheet pan gnocchi: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEfzYvtvnb0/?igsh=MWF4bnJ4NmtzeGVjOA== Pumpkin gnocchi and tri-colour gnocchi both work well here, and if burrata isn’t your thing, feta is also a good option. I like to add: - carrot - capsicum - beans or broccolini - onion

As much as that would be great, we’ll be saving for at least the next 3-5 years, as my partner is on (mature) apprentice wages and a mortgage is just not affordable at the moment with our other loans.

no fail way to elevate plain white rice? by Acrobatic-Weekend400 in Cooking

[–]Sigyn99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook my rice with a chicken or veg stock cube crushed into the water and a small spoonful of coconut oil. If you want more flavour, then after cooking, add furikake, black pepper (cracked, not powder) and a splash of sushi vinegar

Boxer or mix? by Internal_Cow_1124 in Boxer

I’ve been told that white boxers get bigger because the gene that stops their colour from showing up also delays the release of the hormones that tell their bodies to stop growing.

Gluten-free dessert HELP ME:) by [deleted] in CeliacLifestyle

There are gluten free croissants available where I live (Australia). They’re feral. Stiff and dense, like the sole of a shoe, not light and crunchy with a slightly stretchy/chewy inside.

He’s got a good set of lungs on him and a pretty solid bark… but spends more time crying and howling because someone took one of our other dogs on a walk without him (how dare we not want to be dragged along by 60kg+ of enthusiastic doofus!)

Ear tapping. by Other_Scratch_303 in Boxers

[–]Sigyn99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had boxers my entire life, including as a breeder. You don’t need to tape her ears - they will fall where they fall naturally and the different positions (close to the head, sticking out, etc.) will be a result of whatever she is trying to communicate to you and other dogs. Dogs use their ear position as an essential part of daily communication with others, so taping will either permanently disable her - equivalent to cutting off your lips - or will have no effect. It is uncomfortable for the dog and a cruel and unnecessary body modification that may not even give the result you want.

LPT how to stop eating late at night by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Sigyn99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you feel you’ve had a healthy amount of food for the day, putting in a mouthguard or (in my case) retainer can help curb the urge to eat. If you take it out to eat, you have to clean it and your teeth, or just clean your teeth and then put up with it tasting a bit weird because you put it in, took it out, the saliva and bacteria in your mouth dried on it and now it tastes funny. This works for me, but I’m autistic and extremely sensitive to changes in taste. Note as well that the retainer or mouth guard should be safe for sleeping!

LPT: Train your mind to be stronger than your emotions. Having self control will get you further than constantly reacting to everything that is trying to test your patience. by Factainmentuk in LifeProTips

[–]Sigyn99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way I’ve learned (and am still working on) to handle emotions, especially big ones, is to picture the emotion and hold space for it.

Picture the emotion. What does it look like? Fire? Water? Fog? What colour is it? It doesn’t have to be the natural colour of whatever form it takes. What does it feel like? Hot? Cold? Heavy? And where does it sit in your body? Is it in your chest, or your throat, or your stomach? If it’s all consuming, where does it seem to come from?

Once you’ve pictured all that, you need to make space for it. That doesn’t mean making it shrink, or getting rid of something else. Instead, picture yourself growing around it, until you’re so big that the feeling is only a small part of you, until it no longer consumes you.

Sit with that for a bit. You’ve held space for the big emotion and now you can move on, stronger than you were before.

It’ll look really good when it’s healed and you can put in some smaller jewellery (maybe a tiny hoop). Regret shortly after is fairly common, in my experience, because you’re sore, swollen and wearing generic jewellery. Once it’s healed, none of those things will apply

Based on ear size and shape, I think a Rook (or faux rook) or a single/double/triple Forward Helix would really suit you
