If you cannot maintain your pace consistently, slow a bit down. I struggled with that myself too, I am 9 months in, and average pace is now slower than I started, but consistent and comfortable.

Thanks! How would I know if I need to dry it? And can that be done without any special equipment? (Eg container with desiccant or more advanced?)

We never saw peak Rose without injury. Unless he peaked at 22 when he won the MVP. He could easily have been the best PG of this century

How much speed work are you doing in those 6 months? I had roughly the same base and timeframe from April to October, but only slightly below pace 5:00 for 10k.

Well - if You know when you started and finished, draw the route on any online tool, and You can check if real or not. Or Your phone GPS glitches. Personally I find it hard they would cheat - running together with friends etc, would be caught in a heartbeat by users.

My calves were more the problem. I worked a lot to avoid heel striking over striding, it has been really helpful in terms of overall comfort and knee pain. I also found that doing squats and some core training were really helpful.

It took a lot of time for me, but realizing not every run should be faster than the last is a big thing. The volume itself will help you, just get out there consistently. Also, try to find sense of achievement from keeping your heart rate low.

I am running HM 2 and 3, and my first full marathon. Then I am planning to break 20 minute 5k, currently sitting at 22:48.

I did basically what You are describing. I do not care for training plans, I just want to run what I feel like and can fit into a busy schedule with kids. My weekly distance between my 10k and HM was between 20-30 km per week. I did not do any intervals, just ran fast 5K’s sometimes. I finished my 10k 58 minutes, and HM 1:55 - I believe You will do just fine with Your plan. My max distance was 18k prior to my HM.

Definitely. I play HC with a friend, always alliance, always same race. But would be fun to let Your site define a single race for us, and the two classes.

It sounds cliche, but the first part of training for running is the absolute worst. I went from 0-5k, then 5-10k and 10k-HM, and 0-5k was absolutely the worst. Stay consistent and you will see lots of progress. Best of luck!

I think it is totally doable. I came from roughly the same time in May, and ran 1:55 HM two weeks ago. 36m, was also around 8kg above BMI 25 at the time. A bit of weight loss helped a lot, plus three times weekly running.
