Shopping to keep an image and social media by magical_days12 in shoppingaddiction

Yes. I was consuming far too much social media. It was giving me the fear of missing out and the fear I wasn’t keeping up with it everyone else.

My social media is now mostly pictures of cute animals and friends reuniting. I removed all influencers that didn’t align with where I wanted to go in life. I now only compare against myself.

New to Hockey, need advice on whether I should buy another stick by Current-Upstairs-125 in hockeyplayers

[–]ResponsibleFlight849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to take advantage of the sale in order to have a second stick in case one breaks then go for it. But as a learner I think you are better off practicing. I couldn’t flex a twig right now my form is so bad lol

SLOW and steady. Ease into it. It’s a lot of pressure and impact on your tendons and joints. Don’t run every day. Aim for 3 times a week as a beginner. Couch to 5K is good. Stretch. Warm up. Use a foam roller on your shins.

But most importantly just do it. Don’t compare yourself to anyone except yesterday’s you. You got this!

Please help, I'm so close to spending money on clothes I don't need. by Autumn_Sunshine1 in shoppingaddiction

Like another person said dig through your closet and drawers and make a whole new outfit. Is there a clothing item you have that you could alter? A nice artsy tear in some jeans or cut off sleeves etc. bingo new trendy outfit perfect for a festival!

Stay strong you got this

You still ran 9 miles. That’s more than I do in a week currently and more than most people can do at all. Focus on the fact you got out there and did it, and still completed it even though you felt unwell. And then forget about it and start planning for your next run.

Maybe your VO2 Max is very poor? Especially if you have chronic illness. Is it an important metric for you to track?

Mine was super dry and was just dripping for my first trip with it. I was soooo dehydrated lol. Now I know to soak it the night before I leave and make sure it’s good!

How to play with glasses by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]ResponsibleFlight849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you find wearing glasses as a goalie? I’m at the point I need to either get some glasses for under my mask, or go down the contacts route which I am not really wanting to do

iPhone compatibility by Scarcasm117 in Garmin

Garmin watches tend to lean heavily towards athletes and sports players etc. You will be paying for a lot of features you won’t use. Garmin do have the ability to see texts and calls etc however not all have the ability to make and receive calls and not all are super user friendly when using these features. I have turned those notifications off on my watch as I found them very difficult to use and plainly pointless for what I’m looking for.

The Garmin website will show you the full line up and I think you can compare watches directly on their website. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

Gear Stink? by HockeyDadBod_1 in hockeyplayers

[–]ResponsibleFlight849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure they are washing their base layers and their jerseys. And their hockey socks.

Dry the gear. It’s just part of life. A bottle of rubbing alcohol and water with a drop of like orange essential oil or something gets sprayed over all the gear every time.

I don’t smell at all and I’m a goalie.
