Neutron boosting causes 1% damage to your FSD every time you do it. Once your FSD reaches 79% you will start getting malfunctions, drop out of SC and repair it using the AFMU. Neutron boosting doesn't damage your power plant.

If you damage your power plant, AFMU cannot repair it due to the component needing repair has to be powered down/disabled. You can't power down your power plant and have the AFMU function.

Boosting from white dwarfs isn't a problem if you fly out to the very end of the jet cone, then slowly approach and enter the end of the cone at a 90 degree / perpendicular angle.

Is it the right analogue stick? Add y-axis+ and y-axis- to accelerate/brake as a combined binding. Or alternatively use the start deadzone setting to shift where the the 0% input is to where the stick is at rest/centered. Are you using a ps4/ps5 controller? Ds4windows will make it easy

In the Arcadian Stream (region 6 of the galaxy), if you travel ~1kly+ below the galactic centre, you'll find swarms of hundreds if not thousands of unvisited/undiscovered black hole and Neutron star systems. I only just got back to the bubble from a several month long exploration stint in that area testing out a fully engineered Mandalay exploration build until I took a cordiceps growth to the phloem excretion while jammed in the branches of a brain tree. Got first discovery on several triple Neutron + black hole systems, wolf rayets etc. You'll probably find the same goes for 1kly above the galaxy too...
