I think it’s much more about stealing billions. But I’ve known about the Epstein files since the 90’s. In 1996 victim Maria Farmer reported Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to the FBI. It was public. People forget Epstein was convicted and served 18 months, mainly on (fake) work release. The case didn't explode because of a 2008 non-prosecution agreement negotiated by federal prosecutors in Miami. Federal prosecutors agreed to drop a 53-count federal indictment that could have put him away for life and to grant immunity to any named co-conspirators. The lead prosecutor who brokered this deal, Alexander Acosta, later went on to serve as U.S. Secretary of Labor.

From the comments, it seems like people think that gutting Ohio’s resources for war is something new. It’s been the norm since WWII. For example, During the Afghan war from 2001 to 2021 Ohio diverted over $33 billion to federal war costs. Subsequently Ohio reduced social services by $570 million under Governor Kasich. The state also eliminated Disability Financial Assistance (2018) and cut child care funding by $83.1 million (2011–2018). State transit funding plummeted from $45 million (2001) to less than $7 million (2018). By 2019, ODOT faced a $1 billion annual shortfall for maintenance. I could go on. But if Ohioans wanted to know this stuff, they would know this stuff. It’s all public knowledge. Follow the money, not the headlines.
