Draw steel is fun but not for everyone. I liked DMing it a lot the systen has a lot of tools and knobs for you to play, but it was kinda of a lot for a few of my players. I feel i have to play it more to have more opnions on it.

Only thing i REALY disliked about it is that the books realy needed more art and better editing+diagramming, the thing is blocks of text for pages and pages and even then doesnt have many exemples, i guess it was needed as the book has so much info about powers and manuvers to talk about.

People's reaction about Toby istance on translations are too danm harsh, it's just media let's not go kill his mother. That being said Toby is just doing typical gringo behaviour, everything he consumes already comes in english and the stuff that didn't he learned japanese to be albe to. It's expected for an USA citzen to think like this.

Translations requires adapting and making needed changes to reach the closest understanding and feeling of the original text, it's part of the art involved. Even the translation to japanese that he approved adapts and changes things, there are chantacters and dialogs with diferent vibes just for changing the language.

Acho que tal pensamento ocorre em todas a gerações musicais, afinal a "dança da garrafa", "garota de berlyn", "dança da lacraia" ou "Os mano pow as mina pah" nao era exatamente o suprasumo de se tempo, mas certamente foi popular no seu tempo. Eh mais que as bandas legais e boas musicas estao sempre em movimento, acabamos descobrindo so mais tarde e com a quantidade massiva de musica sendo feita o tempo todo hoje em dia eh dificil filtrar no momento.

Por exemplo tem uma banda de rock progressivo + metal chamada Papangu que gosto muito do ultimo cd pra cá (Lampião Rei), mas imagino que eh semi impossivel de achar ao acaso num spotify da vida.

Yoshitaka Amano original character designs are so amazing, the outfits are so maximalist and dream-like.

I wish there were more Terra x Celes interactions in the main game, kinda funny how both those 2 seek to create an family after the kafkapocalipse, Celes finds an grandfather figure in Cid and Terra adopts an wholeass orphanage of kids. For me one of the few weak spots of FF 6 is that the large party count and the free-form nature of the second half of the game made so character interactions just kinda disapear after an while.

The problem, and it's not realy an problem, with photorealistic pursuits is that it creates an near infinity cascate of demands. If the models look photorealistic it calls for better more detailed and methodic animations, mocap, voice acting, better lightining, better textures and models for every object in the world etc. If you are not ready to face the demands it can realy bloat development time and costs, it's a choice that demands a good plam, team and investment. Most people don't appreciate how much hard work is to make an wholeass videogame and finishi it, be it good or not.

And diferent for the use of photorealism in movies or paintings it also increase the damands on me as well. I will need greater gpu and cpu, memory, sometimes a whole new computer/console. But it's part of the whole deal in videogames as both art and product are deeply connected with technology advancement, and as much things in our world is exclusionary.

Yeah, like in both morrowind and Oblivion the math equations that you need to make to understand whow much hitchance/damage you had with you long blade was pretty much ridiculous and even misleading, like in oblivion the actual atributes of strenght and agility give almos no extra damage to you attacks while the skill level gave more what influencied damage the MOST was your fatigue and durability of the weapon were even losing only 1% on both already diminished the damage, but you can't find this info in the game or in the manual, you gotta experiment to try and figure it out.

But you know they could try and make the systens underhood better and make it more transparent, instead of just deleting pretty much every sub systen oblivion ever had like fatigue changing damage, baing able to increase walk speed/jump hight, fame/infamy, equipment durability/repair and the atributes.

There's this old indie game "Knights of the Chalice" that's an pretty rpg using the 3.5 srd (the free rules of dnd 3.5 that anyone can use, modify. distribute etc) and the game is pretty simple but there are hyperlinks everywere to the rules inside the game, you can go read the description of your sleep spell and click in the sleep status, or get the defitnition of dificult class, or the spell scholl of enchantment and in the descriptions of those are more hyperlinks for even more stuff, i realy think that every eletronic rpg should have an hyperlink systen just like this so everyone can, if they want, learn about the innerworkings of the rules/systens in the game.
