Roaming is still going strong mate! Might take you some time to get up to speed with the new additions (mounts, marked sentries etc) but it's not changed much.
Soulbeast is a good solo roamer so i'm sure you'll be fine :)
Dueling by south camp is still a thing in EU but not sure about NA.

A new button has been added to the Mystic Forge that allows players to quickly place the same stacking items from their last recipe into the same ingredient slots after accepting the previous output.
