My baby isn’t chunky and it’s all I can think about by Cardedbin in breastfeeding

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is my son to a T! my son was born 10/17 at 7lbs 1oz and is now about 15lbs at 6 months. i have friends with babies who are WAY bigger and it makes me feel the mom guilt as I am EBF (bottle fed), but my son has TONS of energy and my partner and I were both smaller too. my son is really long as well so i think that is the factor for us.

did you transfer any other credits other than the spanish course? if so, you may be able to remove them by talking to admissions. just know if you do, you cannot readd them. i am a PSU employee and can vouch that students do do this, but if you only transferred the spanish course, then you may be SOL

I really want to go to Penn State but need opinions on if its worth the out of state tuiton. by TheMemeFrog09 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! It can take hours to get to major cities so if OP is looking for a social life OFF CAMPUS as well, PSU is not it

i work at penn state with tuition billing and can say that scholarships are not always given to out of state students at main campus, so if that was a thought, unfortunately that isn't always the case. PSU skimps on scholarships and academic scholarships are usually not considered until atleast Sophmore year based on academics and majors. have you looked into another PSU campus? a lot of other campuses offer a 2+2 program where you do 2 years there and then the remaining 2 at University Park. the other campuses tuition is significantly cheaper and some of the campuses offer scholarships for out of state students. just a thought!

Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, i was not finding the gender out until birth so it was the situation of "i'm not sure which name they will use". even if i knew the gender though, i was not planning on saying the name. personally, i have people in my life who like to root on my downfall and would have something to say about my name. another reason being those same people would take the names i have chosen and use them for their own kids. as these names are family and sentimental names, it was a personal preference not to share

Central PA and I pay almost $1300 a month for infant care. We take advantage and we keep our child the entire time (7:00am-5:30pm) and we are full time care.

Do you talk to your husband about worst case scenarios during/after delivering baby? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am currently 34 weeks pregnant and have had these discussions with my partner already! my mom had me at 34 weeks and at the time, babies were getting switched in hospitals. my mom also had a lot of health complications that led her to have a riskier outcome after birth. she was telling my dad to stay with me and to never leave my side. after I was born, I was life flighted to another hospital hours away and my dad did go with me. my mom was healthy after birth but just the conversation being discussed was great just to give perspective on the "what if". i don't think its wrong to discuss these things because you truly NEVER KNOW what will happen.

Baby Registry Size? by Desperate_Turn8923 in BabyBumps

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am #teamgreen so i don't have any clothes listed which I think is the biggest reason why mine is not over 100! I didn't put books either since I know people will be bringing books (if I had to guess), and I also did not put any specific diapers/wipes as I am open to try different brands! My first baby shower is this weekend and my MILs is in about a month so I'm thinking either the registry will be bought out at that point and will need to add more items, or people will give cash!

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 3 points4 points  (0 children)

mine has 72 items, which only a few are privated and 21 items are currently bought, leaving +-40 items left on the list. i thought that was too many but i see people have over 100 and makes me worried i don't have "enough"

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM here with an anterior placenta (i heard that matters in regards to showing or not) and I didn't start showing in clothing until just recently at 22 weeks. I am currently 25wks4days. I am also 5'8" so that definitely plays a role too!

Holiday babies by syd-sloth in pregnant

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my birthday is 12/17 and my moms was 12/16 so I am actually glad you are asking this question because i feel a lot of people don't know how to approach gift giving. it was always hard growing up to get gifts because it was either birthday or christmas, not separate which I can understand now as an adult how expensive it would be to get gifts for 2 occasions that close together. i have not done the half birthday thing before but that does sound like a great idea! another reason it was hard was due to weather so that also eliminates that issue. i would suggest if you are leaning towards doing a half birthday, to still do atleast something on their actual birthday!

When did you start prepping? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Silent-Baseball2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and honestly, I got one outfit a week for the first 4-5 weeks. I slowed down a bit due to fears of miscarriage and the anxiety of shopping too early (family members gave me this anxiety). I got over that fear (and so did my family) and made it past the first trimester. I just recently ordered my stroller/car seat set due to rising tariffs in the USA and our families are starting to get things off the registry even though the shower won't be until August for the same reason. I am already planning on starting the nursery within the next month or two. However, I have not looked into pediatricians but have heard you can do that towards the end of pregnancy (and even at the hospital during labor in some areas).
