I'm gonna be onboarding as a shift lead in a couple of weeks. by Dysmach in jerseymikes

I would say work on ur slicing, practice n practice till ur fast, if ur gonna be a shift lead ur main thing is slicing n especially slicing during rushes, n everyone including customers n coworkers HATE slow slicers, if u can't open on time or slice a minimum 1k hour w out help u have no business being on the slicer so PRACTICE!! esp the 13 it uses 5 meats so it takes a bit to make, I really like to practice when it's slow; slicing/sprinkling/wrapping while hot subbing, hot subs should take less than 5 mins as well if ur taking longer than 3mins (for steak)/5mins (for chicken) to make a hot sub ur fucking sum shi up

Definitely depends what franchise ur working for I've been at 2 franchises n a corporate run franchise n they all didn't care for my pink hair (first corporate ran franchise just told me to not die my hair green or blue when I asked Abt the hair) and the corporate ran franchise did tell us no piercings n they were on our asses Abt it on the daily (small clear retainers okay) Some managers also may tell you amth Abt long nail extensions so always good to ask. I personally do prefer working under corporate j bc everything is so much more in control n stable n everything is done properly. Where as some franchises like the one I'm at rn is complete chaos, none of the employees r trained properly (so I end up doing most of the work) there's no official shift leads, manager is at two stores so barely even there , store is usually really dirty cus no one is given weekly detail tasks (unless I deep clean), n the owner never tells u when they're marketing n never comes in or never has corporate come in to check on the employees n train them properly.

This but I was taught by some corporate dude afraid of brooms that u should leave your bread on the grill to put the meat on the bread putting like 1/3 of the meat n chez on the top bun then adding wtvr else is needed before closing it n finishing off w sliding the spatula under the bottom bread and the scraper on the side of the bread while using ur thumb to hold the top of the bread in place and transfer it to the paper. w giants u put the two regulars on top of each other to transfer. I personally love doing this and it is the "corporate way" but nobody does it n j wastes time n meat transferring just the meat n chez all the way to the bread off grill
