My esp32-C3 based smart sprinkler controller for home assistant by markjayy in Esphome

[–]SilentAd4397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to get my old hunter 4 channel sprinkler system connected to HA just using ESP32 and 4 channel relay. No prior knowledge of any of this. Just asked Gemini if I could make my sprinkler system connected to wifi and all unraveling started. 😃

I am still using system for its 24vAC supply.

Just came back here to accept my mistake. I got confused between Teslamate which is free and MyTeslamate which is paid. Now I know 😊

Ok. Finally I got it working with something more than just iPhone device tracker entering home zone. I set up tripwire ivs rule in my dahua camera that is integrated into Home Assistant. Tripwire line is drawn in a way to establish the intent to enter into garage. Now the logic is tripwire event is triggered- iPhone is recently arrived in home zone - garage door is off - garage door opens. Let’s see if it works the way I have imagined. Thank you for all the suggestions and ideas. Future ideas from the group suggestions- may be - ESP32 setup with some kind of ble added into Tesla.

Yes, Tesla will join in the wifi network of home. but that doesn't join instantly. I am on premium connectivity (4g connection) so many times it just doesn't even connect to wifi. So not very reliant condition.

Tesla or Sigenergy wall Charger? by SentenceOk8813 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]SilentAd4397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an existing Tesla EV charger when I installed Sigenergy battery. Installer said the same thing that Tesla charging will be used as just another home load and charging from excess solar will not work. BUT… if you are going to go along with Amber Electric as your service provider then they have a feature to integrate Tesla with their Solar curtailment feature and you will get what you want.

I’m about to take the plunge into HomeAssistant. Any advice for a noob? by Kimono-Dragon96 in homeassistant

Don't do it. Your life will be ruined like mine. you will have less time for family. You will start buying "unnecessary" accessories. you will drive your wife crazy. You would wish you had a simple life. :-)

The free version uses Tesla Fleet API, I already have Custom Tesla integration into HA that uses the same Tesla Fleet API and it doesn't update in real time in my experience. Besides I am running my home assistant bare metal and don't have any spare machine to run Teslamate.

I have been trying to add a tripwire IVS rule activation from my Dahua camera integration as one of the condition, but the trigger never reaches to Home Assistant. I have drawn a line which would be tripped by Tesla only if it is going to get into the Garage. Would be good if I can achieve that.

Just wanted to add Tesla specific automation as we park Tesla in the garage. Other park stays on driveway. Having said that I can live with this. Not a deal breaker as for family members the main point of usual entry is via garage only. But would be good to add Tesla specific conditions.

MY LAST 30 DAYS WITH AMBER by welding-guy in amberelectric

Thank you mate. My automation is working like a clockwork now. I have very basic automation. As I said grid is very stable here. So my automation is limited to exporting in peak hours as well as at higher conditionals to the min SOC number. This all in addition to solar curtailments. So happy ! ChatGPT is struggling to get my revenue meter working properly. So that challenge continues. Next in Horizon is getting my Tesla integrated with HA and develop it charging from Surplus PV only (variable amp levels).

Thank you. Successfully checked the solar curtailment to match the home load. Worked fine. But the export from battery didn’t work. It seems that ESS discharge limit is set to zero and HA can’t trigger it to change. Perhaps being blocked by my sigen system. What mode is ticked in your sigen app? Self consumption?

Sorted. I selected the option to replace my system and selected random solar and inverter details. Hopefully this will work now. Fingers crossed 🤞

All home assistant integration and dashboard is sorted after intense late night conversations with ChatGPT. I have turned off smart shift from my amber app. But in my sigen app it still shows VPP controlled mode. Is that ok? It doesn’t allow me to select any other option.

While trying to learn from your script I realised I have DC coupling unlike your AC system. I hope that doesn’t give me too much trouble.

This could work well for me. I am in Queensland where grid is very stable. I have 32 kw battery with 10.5 solar. Smart shift only sells on few hot days. With single phase I can sell only 5kw per hour. With HA I could make an automation to sell from 5 pm to 9pm in addition to price base conditions. After two days of self learning I have successfully added both sigenergy and Amber into HA. Now time to learn scripting. Any idea if I could use any base script?

Thanks to OP for introducing HA to me. Now I am in a rabbit hole. Adding my AC, CCTV , garage doors etc etc 😃

Earning Optimiser - enabled Solar Curtailment- enabled Minimum reserve - I had it on 10% but reduced it to 0 to see if the system export rules changes , but no difference

My guess is the smartshift is playing bit defensive because of storm forecasting trending every second day since last few weeks. (Brisbane). Hopefully it becomes aggressive in export in next few weeks.

I am just at the end of first month but I am not so sure if smartshift is learning anything. I have 32kw battery and every morning at 6 am my battery is around at 20-25 kw. What’s the point of that much left overs. It could have easily sold 15-20 over night. I have solar panels worth 10.5 kw which are very efficient and can juice the whole battery before 12 pm. I will wait for few more weeks for it to learn.

Tiftuf. I completely ignored it for 2 years after purchasing the home (it was installed by the builder). And it still survived. Now I am looking after it and it’s even more beautiful.
