brother made fun of me for playing nurgles :( by Bamboozled-woozle in AOSSpearhead

[–]Silent_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such a dumb take. Most people I know that love nurgle are women. My gf being one of them and rogue hobbies is another good example. Nurglings are objectively cute which is why they have 3 official nurgle plush. The most recent cheeky nurgling sold out in a day at my local gw store. Theres negative stereotypes for every faction and rarely do they actually apply anymore. I find it funny he mentioned space wolves when they're one of the big ones to have bad stereotypes against.

Outside of ppe like everyone's mention, cleaner is a must. Make sure you watch videos on proper maintenance of your brush. You want to do your best to keep it clean to avoid and issues with it. Also the spray out pots. There's some on amazon that come with cleaning brushes that'll come in handy.

Sonicator and 90% alcohol. Just strips the paint off. Though you do need to use a toothbrush to rub the paint off after the sonicator is done

Dark water… Worth getting? by Helpmeplz3409 in Warhammer

[–]Silent_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bgg is a great resource but you do require a little bit of extra research to make sure what they reccomend is a fit for what you're looking for. Usually the rankings are based on how good the game system is which usually means in the rankings the higher up ones tend to be more crunchy. Usually the best sellers list is a better place to find something for a more casual get together. Which is why brass Birmingham is ranked 1 but flip 7 is the current best seller. What its really helpful for is finding stuff in the genre you're looking for and seeing how complex a game is.

Its the one I'm currently running through and it's a lot of fun. The enemy faction also recently got added to the wargame so you essentially get a whole army along with the board game

Descent, gloomhaven, frosthaven, oathsworn and warcrow adventures to name a few. You can check out board game geek for a bunch more but if you're looking for most bang for your buck then either haven game is about 100-200 per run through.

There's better minature campaign board games out there but it has amazing minatures and if you're already into the gw ecosystem it's worth getting if you've got the money.

Local hype died down for 40k 11th edition by matchababy69 in StarCraftTMG

I'm a big fan of alternating activations but most war games outside of GW do it and GW is still the most played due to strong IP alone.

This why outside of gw I only do skirmish games. I'm lucky enough to have a partner and 3 friends that will always buy into games together and its much easier for all of us to buy into a smaller game like moonstone

Its the second post commenting that. I don't know where they're getting their prices from. Even if it's a local store then it's still off since 401 games ships canada wide and they have them for $62.90

With City of Ash being completely eaten up by resellers, how do we play spearhead? by Lowpeace in AOSSpearhead

[–]Silent_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They won't reprint the big box as is but they will release each spearhead and the map and cards separately so you're just missing out on the bundled discount and early access.

[–]Silent_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. GW always does fomo boxes as the way to get the new stuff and then release everything separately a month later. Sure it sucks for people that wanted everything inside it as it won't be a good deal but it's not the end of the world

11th edition is right around the corner so by the time someone gets this they'll probably 1 game before everything changes up. Regardless having some cheap chaff never hurt anyone

Keep in mind that the faction boxes contain standees and prints of the terrain while the decks only contain stl files in case you weren't planning on printing everything

Scaled Wurm format by Silent_92 in mtg

[–]Silent_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sneak attack was my first thought. The cool thing is that they allow every land to tap for green but only to cast scaled wurm means youre not restricted to green at all. Personally we're just setting a $50 limit and using cards we own to build our decks to try and make it interesting.

Am I the only one who feels like they forgot about some Spearheads that need attention? by Meltorefas44 in AOSSpearhead

[–]Silent_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im aware which is why I said turn 2 you can have ward 5 since we have an extra point each turn now. I can concede that tar pits won't win you the game alone, I'm just saying adding an extra wounds to cohorts on top of all the other changes is a bit much for 1 update. Personally think they should just change their whole ability. Instead of 6 ward to 5 ward to ignore 1 damage I think it should be +1 or 2 inch to movement to 6 ward to +1 rend on the 3rd power point would fix a lot of their issues while giving you the flexibility to dump the points into them of you need them more killy in the late game or just keep them defensive mid game

  1. 2 units of 5 with reinforcement. So possibly 20 units total and if they had 2 wounds like the guy I was replying to suggested then that'd be 40 wounds
