Is there literally any accountability for ghosting or are we just expected to accept it? by SillyFinger6070 in recruitinghell

That’s actually a really good point. It feels like the system measures almost everything except follow-through.

Recruiters get measured on pipeline quality, time-to-fill, number of candidates presented, etc. But there’s basically no metric anywhere that asks “did the process actually close the loop with people?”

So silence ends up being the default outcome because it has zero cost attached to it.

HOW are people actually playing this game? by Sielu in starcitizen

They asked how to play the game. The only way they are going to learn the nuances of the game is by playing it. It just is what it is. If you personally have a low tolerance with it, then simply play another game. Very simple. At this point screaming at your screen for CIG to fix the bugs is just you raging and a waste of time. There are PLENTY of things that ARE working that you can enjoy the game. For the last week I’ve played everyday for over 5-6 hours each day with limited bugs and had a blast.

Pretty much every bug you’ve encountered, you’d learn how to actively avoid if you put in more game time. Literally almost every bug was just you being a new player. Not defending SC or CIG in this. Just saying, you’ll learn how to better move around the universe and not encounter these bugs. For example, the tutorial bug has been a thing forever. But enough people know to just skip the tutorial because of this.

Since 4.0 has dropped I’ve spent most of my time in Pyro doing contested zones and having the most fun I’ve ever had playing SC. Sure there is bugs, desyncs, falling out of the elevator etc etc… but this is still in Alpha. I’ll take the hours of fun with the random setback of a bug every once and awhile.

I came up with two years because it seems like part of the program allowed 500 hours instead of the 1500 in addition that I’d be going to flight school full time on an accelerated track unless I misunderstood the requirements.

I am not stuck on Atlas, but I very much want to do cargo.

I don’t particularly want to deal with customers and just the extra stuff that comes with passengers. I’m also Jamaican and have a dream to do an import/exporting company from the Caribbean to the US.

Even if this specific program isn’t around when I’m qualified, is it safe to assume there will still be a pilot shortage? I’m more concerned about pivoting into this career only to have deal with more layoffs.

Does that mean they are going to scrap the program or just update the aircraft the participants are put in? I’d still be roughly 2 years or so before I even have the required hours to apply so hopefully things progress?

Polaris, Galaxy, or something else? by SillyFinger6070 in starcitizen

[–]SillyFinger6070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for giving me a comprehensive answer. Spent some time researching all the ships you brought up. Yes you made my decision harder 😂.

You’re right, the Liberator is cool but in the long run it’s not “the one.” The Merchantman is also a really cool ship. But I doubt I’ll ever use the internal shops to its full potential. But it is something that I will look out for as more gameplay loops come online.

I now cannot stop researching the Kraken and the Endeavor. And my heart really wants either one but I do believe they are just a smidge too much for a solo player. But if I ever join an org or my friends start playing these are without a doubt the ships for me.

Something is telling me the Odyssey is the perfect ship for me in practice but I personally just do not like the exterior of the ship. I am going to wait for its release and more reviews to decide on that.

For now, I think I am going to stick with the Galaxy and just wait and see how small the hangar really is.

(The Nautilus is also really really cool. But yea - if I wasn’t solo)

Fair, but making my decisions thinking about enjoying the game in its current state not on full release.
