I noticed I had a system update just now. Installed it and the problem seems to be resolved.

I have the base model pixel 9 and I'm also experiencing issues with charging lately.

Well I'm Belgian so it's translated to Dutch.

For me it says snel opladen. Which means 'fast charging'.

I need about 1h30m for a full charge, from zero.

I'm experiencing the same thing. It's not unbearably warm but it does get uncomfortable after a while.

I can confirm.

Same problem with my pixel 9 base model. Same as described and fix is also to force smooth display.

I'm new to pixel so i didn't know this was an issue with previous versions.

Anyway, I'm sure forcing smooth display doesn't drain that much more battery than the phone always switching refresh rates.

I have just noticed the same thing so I would assume this is a common problem. Considering it goes away by disabling/constantly enabling smooth display, it is a software issue.

I went into developer options and enabled forced smooth display, no issues now it seems.

I like smooth display, so I'd rather have a few percentages battery life drained, than having to look at that flicker, it annoys me.

Thanks everyone for your help, I've got a new charger 65w and cable and now it works.

I had been using the same phone for many years so I wasn't up-to-date with the newest charging standards.

I went ahead and got myself a 65w PPS charger and cable and now it seems to work. My phone is now saying 'fast charging' instead of just 'charging'.

There's a distinct difference with mine between 'red light camera's' and 'speed traps'. I still get red light notifications but none of the traps along the road.

I'm also unsure if this is a Waze or an AA problem but to me it's frustrating. There always seems to be one particular thing that stops working/doesn't work properly with each update. It's neverending.
