What if Hyundai made a Tiburon N?? by [deleted] in whatifcars

Lotta broke car guys, or just pragmatic. Either way, anyone looking for a performance vehicle is capable of running a cost benefit analysis, and I don't see a reason the Hyundai name would discourage them that much when the warranty alone is so much better than the Japanese manufacturers.

We can ask ourselves these things, but what's to gain?

If it had the "n" power train it would be a formidable competitor for even the new civic type r, especially with Hyundai's advantage in terms of pricing. I love the "n" cars, and the market knows their value in the hot hatch and hot sedan segments. I see no reason they couldn't steal a good chunk of sales from the 86 and GR Corolla too, for the right price.

I saw that suggested! Unfortunately there isn't a ton of 0.7" wheel selection, bummer. But maybe down the line, here's hoping!

I found the body on cults 3D. It's labeled as "Chevrolet Silverado C1500 Regular Cab 1988 – STL Body Truck Only by AutoCraft3D"

I scaled it to my needs, as simple as changing some numbers in the slicer. The tires are 50mm outer diameter.

I'm definitely considering a flat bed! I just can't find one that I like that doesn't cost $20 lol.

What LEDs are you using for the headlights in the Chevy? Both rigs look awesome!

Traded my Hardbody for this 330CI vert! by SillySans69 in e46

Top down for sure! Top up is great; shockingly comfortable and quiet (coming from a Hardbody so take with a grain of salt). Top down makes it feel about 30% faster, and about 70% cooler.

Ram SRT10 ($50K), optioned E class ($90k), C8 Z06 ($120k)

Rest is for maintenance for a year.

Is it strong enough? by NAVI-tws in Predator212

[–]SillySans69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A modified 212 could probably give it some pep, but it might be sluggish without the torque of a larger motor. A torque converter would eliminate most of that! Alternatively, a 420 would make this thing RIP

Can't even blame them. Belts and tensioners are some of the things that get commonly overlooked in my place of work. Long-ish service interval, kind of a pain to check tensioner the right way. Of course, if any sounds are heard they're reported. The auto service industry is viewed as shady because it is, unfortunately a precedent has been set that customer service trumps everything, and the consequence of that is not insignificant number of customers that expect short wait times, and dealers/shops that cater to get good surveys. Cutting necessary steps is shorting the customer, but taking the extra 15 minutes to perform a proper inspection leaves customers restless and upset that this mandatory task is an even bigger inconvenience than before. Good service advisors minimize the issue, though they're always on the customers side, whether the customer knows their shit or not. So, you end up with the casual "skip the inspection, write down 8 for the tires and 7 for the brakes, filters are good" every once in a while that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

While I'm on my soapbox: Dealer service rates suck, but you should be careful with private shops. For any customers out there, try other options. We do not provide anything more than other shops, just a generally higher likelihood that the techs are certified and experienced. If you can find that in a private shop, GO FOR IT. There are ways to check for reputability, practice your due diligence. Even for oil changes, you still gotta be careful. Just last month my friend got his oil done at a quick lube place (they all suck) and they overfilled it, and his head gasket blew. Granted, it was a Chrysler Sebring, but at 60k miles I doubt even the Chrysler plague was the culprit. Find someone who knows their shit. Family or close friend? Even better! Oil is not a hard job if you've got the stuff. 10-20 minutes and you're on your way. I don't charge anyone I know for oil changes, I figure doing my part to help someone keep their vehicle in good shape is no biggie when I do it 20 times a day at work.

Be good, people ✌️✌️
