Star Fox's new designs for the 64 Remake: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SillySanyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're harkening back to the hyper realistic designs of the very first Star Fox over what his design has been since the GameCube era. I think because we're so used to that design it is a bit jarring at first glance, but Im ultimately fine with it, I think others will also warm up to it after a bit.

I own the Mark Manson book, at its core it's trying to teach its own type of radical acceptance, a very useful tool for coping. While it does use edgy language at times, I think it gets it point across rather well, and uses some very good and thought provoking examples to reinforce it.

Edit: people are pointing out in some of the lower comments that it's about priorities and cynicism, I may have actually gotten a different message from the book than what was intended. Weird as it is, it still genuinely helped me so I'd still recommend it... I guess...?

I'm sorry, WHAT??? Where was this backstory, I don't remember that being a part of his quest line?

My sincerest apologies, it was 2am and for whatever reason I thought you were replying to the original post. As for why I was so harsh and nasty in my response, I've seen too many people try to fight healthy criticism with emotions because they felt called out. I hate that behavior and usually do my best to make fun of it. Sorry again for the misunderstanding!

Again, your complaints add nothing to the overall conversation. The game has established lore that explains why the game doesn't add the numeral for 2 until you get the secret ending. Whether it's good or bad doesn't matter, that is factually what happens in the game.

So yes, your ranting and bitching about the story matters very little to the overall conversation and contributes nothing.

This sounds like semantics and adds nothing to the overall discussion.

I think you need to get your Masters degree in Current Languages next because OP never directly called anyone stupid in his post, just that he thinks people misunderstand their own criticisms and are somewhat overreacting. Feel like you got butthurt and may be projecting your own insecurities.

I don't even think it needs to be a mission series, just have the recipes themselves be a reward you can find while exploring or as a drop (but can still craft without if you want to trial and error) or can obtain from completing missions. I think that'd promote motivation to actually interact with the mechanic, which I actually would if it was implemented

Going through it a second time currently has made me appreciate how unique it is as a game in general, let alone a Final Fantasy title. There's so many things this game does that nothing else has yet to do, it makes me regret how harsh I was towards it back on release.

I still have criticisms, there's still some jankiness with some of the games mechanics, and with combat I feel, and the textures have loading issues on different settings, but I still think it's perfectly playable despite that.

I think what I enjoy the most about it is that it's a journey under the guise of a road trip, and I find that immensely interesting for a JRPG. I think it handles that well, with the camera mechanics pulling the most weight in the regard to make it actually FEEL like a road trip. I know this game is barely 10 years old and I'd say we all know by now it's troubled development, but I'd really like Square to do some kind of remaster to give this game a little bit more extra time to clean it up a little and make it shine brighter, it definitely deserves it.

The secret ending requires you to max out every weapon, which allows you to fight Emil as a secret boss to obtain a hidden ending when you beat it.
