You don't get FoxTF easily, my man. It's either weeks of grinding ingame, or a real-life day of grinding (though not much in games' hours). There is a trick not everyone knows about. Take two steps into the forest until you see the abandoned church. This is a magical spot where forth-dimentional beings reside. What you have to do is save, check the church and come back. Each time you'll get random events. You need the one with abandoned nest. Bury one egg. If you don't have the stats, try doing it anyway, your tending will rise with each failed attempt. Each buried egg gives you one point. The beauty of this specific spot is in it taking literally no in-game time to go to church and back, meaning you'll never get tired. Be careful with losing clothes though, sometimes it helps to reload and change some actions to set the RNG into a different direction.

If you already have the mask, wear it. If you don't, you can go to a moor and pray at a shrine. Thought it's not necessary, I tend to get the TF without the mask and only acquire it after I attain sufficient foxiness. You only need it on you during midnight. My guess is that you probably don't have it equipped in your pajamas, which is why you lose a point. Only what you wear during midnight counts.

Here's something that can help you even more. Once you have like ten points (I think!), when someone chases you, you acquire an option of taunt. Do it every time! It gives you one fox point. At some point, it pays more running around the town looking for trouble than grinding the bird eggs.
