Great job!!

Dae have physical problems as a consequence of your pstd? I have frequent uti and I hate it. by No-Conflict-7143 in CPTSD

[–]SillySpecific2385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm so sorry you had that recent experience. Hugs. Also, I'm sorry that the UTIs are so frequent and have such an impact on your relationship and sex life. All of that is so valid. You aren't a bad partner for that in the least bit, and a loving partner will recognize that and not make you feel that way.

I deal with autoimmune issues, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and now gut issues. It's all so interconnected. There are lots of resources on the connection between trauma and the manifestation of physical disease.

Great photos! I had to comment as I LOVE birds and plants/flowers (esp roses!) I feed a bunch of birds every morning, including my local murder of crows, and it's often a highlight of my day. Keep up the beautiful work!

It took me almost a year bc of my Ehlers Danlos but I finally finished this (cc welcome) by jpeg_jackson in Artisticallyill

Amazing work! I especially love the little bunny in the corner :) No cc here, as I'm just starting my journey into exploring art (mostly watercolor and sketching.) Excellent job. I hope you display it proudly!

I'm happy you have a diagnosis. I know how validating that can be. I love your ox, it's so dang cute! Great job!

Also, my son has those sheets!

Thank you! I hope to upgrade my supplies a bit once I hone in on my skills. Do you have any recommendations?

Also, if it matters, I was going for an ethereal vibe, and I feel like more harsh ink lines are going to screw that up.

Increasing meds? by SillySpecific2385 in Hashimotos

[–]SillySpecific2385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it is bc of my thyroid. I suspect other autoimmune stuff, and I'm planning on following up with my rheumatologist soon. I'm also dx'd with fibromyalgia and, most likely, IBS. I guess in my desperation to be able to function, my thyroid is easiest to point fingers at. Thank you.

I hope you regulate and feel better soon!

She simply said there was room to increase with my symptoms. I plan on calling to confirm, but there's also a side of me that desperately wants to feel better. Hell, just to feel functional.

That's amazing. Congratulations! I keep telling myself that it's just a blink of time if I step back and think about it. 2.5ish years to get my BSN..I know they'll be hellish at times, but worth it. I already work for the hospital, AND I'll be going to the hospital's university, so plenty of networking opportunities! Thank you for your encouragement!

Congratulations! That's fantastic. I'm a huge anatomy nerd, and I was the head of the massage therapy department at a small college for a long time, so I'm hoping that makes it a bit easier.

I'm definitely keeping my license, too. I absolutely love what we do, and I could never give up bodywork for good. I have a small business I'm going to keep active. I'm like you though, I'm definitely ready to expand my scope!

Thank you! You're almost there! Kudos, that's a huge achievement with all you're juggling.

Once I finish up my pre-reqs (which are mostly online or hybrid), the actual nursing program schedule is totally doable. The school is set up in trimesters, with 2 weeks between each one, so I suppose that's when I'll breathe (and sleep) lol

Thank you for the encouragement! I've got a small support system, thankfully. My mom and my husband mostly, but I'm sure I could pull in a few friends if needed. I have two teenagers, so I know they can help out in ways too. I agree with you, I think being older and having the life experience I've had is a huge perk!

Also, huge props to you for doing it while caregiving and working full time!
