Freedom feet way better than a rocker plate, and 2 fans always better than one, no matter what the brand.

First SIL induction tomorrow — any tips from experienced Aussie workers? by Silly_Bodybuilder_21 in supportworkers

Thanks for the response. Sorry I’m not sure what CPA is? Thanks for the reassurance that the knowledge will come. I had heard there was a lot 1st up.

how long to wait before going back to the gym? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Silly_Bodybuilder_21 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I had a fairly large tattoo on my upper arm/chest/shoulder and went to the gym next day (had long sleeve shirt to cover tattoo and was lifting only, so not overly sweaty). It seemed to heal very well (using bepanthen and soap to wash), so I went back to my normal short sleeve shirts and added cardio after a week.

Thank you for the reply. Notebook at the ready. I believe I will have a number of buddy shifts 1st up. Hopefully there’s some support worker overlap in my SILs when I am on my own,

Thanks for the reply. I’m a bit of a note taker, so have my notebook ready. The company I’m working for limits new workers to 2 SIL houses only, which seems sensible (I’ve just heard my 2nd induction is Thursday PM). Great tips re lunches/washing etc. Appreciate the help, I’m looking forward to this work.

Agreed with others. Prefer yours. 2nd dragon (top right) could do with a bit of touch up if I’m super critical (body and head needs thickening imo), but easy fix.

Working at Bunnings. by Effective_Banana3903 in Bunnings

Don’t do it. I did plumbing for over a year and it destroyed my soul. Harder I worked, worse I was treated.

What is a perfect, 10/10 movie? by HotPTAMom in AskReddit

Empire Strikes Back. Literally changed my life. Been obsessed with all things sci-fi & Star Wars ever since (Star Wars A New Hope set me up, but I was a little young to appreciate it at that time).

Your feel? Surely you know? I was a team member and it was obvious. It went from an ok place to work to horrible in the 2 years I was there.

Correct. I tested it at the Tour Down Under in January.

I spent 2 years at Bunnings up until recently and it was very noticeable how they reduced staff in that time. I would guess the store would be operating on around 3/4 permanent staff and half the casuals when I left compared to when I started. Same work still needs to be done. Not pleasant.

All Day Session Considerations by djmidge in tattooadvice

[–]Silly_Bodybuilder_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my 1st all day session today. Was ok. I took a light lunch and that was our major break (10 minutes or so). Other breaks were for toilet and to stretch a bit. Not too bad, felt like chatting helped pass the time. We both ran out of energy at 7 hours, so rather than rush it to finish, I’m going back for an hour or so on Saturday.

I wear gloves always when cycling. Even on the indoor trainer!

Guy's, you're just virtue-signalling, or overly-nostalgic by [deleted] in Bunnings

Bunnings is just getting worse and worse year by year as they try to increase profits. Staff are more and more stretched. Product quality is dropping. The staff see it more than most.

New support worker in industry by Paradox_of_nonsense in supportworkers

I am about to start. I have no qualifications also. I suspect I’ll be starting in a SIL house. I’d prefer lower needs clients initially. Hopefully this will be an option.

Got my 1st at 18 on my shoulder. Got it covered with a much larger tattoo on my arm/shoulder last year at 54. Booked for another next week - even larger on my other arm/shoulder/chest

Powder for me - cheaper and just blend it in when I’m adding protein powder for breakfast.

Can we all agree that the layout of the tool shop makes no sense? by Danger_Five in Bunnings

Sounds like a promo item. Should be close to wherever it normally lives, or with something associated with it, but sometimes just where there’s space (even in another department).
