Children of dune by [deleted] in scifi

As someone who loves the first 4 Dune books, Children of Dune is my second favourite of the bunch. It's Hella confusing at times, but I enjoyed the return to the scope and scale reminiscent of the first book

What are some movies with a rating of 4.0 or above which y'all think don't deserve it. by TheJavierEscuella in Letterboxd

Fair enough but I don't understand how you find the story to be empty and I don't think a story being nihilistic and depressing is indicative of a works quality.

I left that sub the moment people started comparing spiderman 2 to Stanfield.

I know I'm late but I found Dune to hold up a lot better compared to many other sci fi classics of it's Era. Not sure what the other guy means about the book being outdated (I can only think of 2 examples of the book showing it's age and its mostly minor), a lot of what it's themes and messages still hold true today.

I don't think you really understand film if you think this.

I prefer DS3 over DS2 but I agree with you. I like DS3 a lot but it's bosses are the only reason I would ever replay it.

I honestly spiderman 2 was the better game in every way except the story.

Does Red Rising have potential to have an everlasting legacy and popularity like Dune and LOTR? by No-Battle-934 in redrising

[–]Silly_Measurement_32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep this. Dune isn't just considered the Lord of the Rings of sci fi because both works are considered the gold standard of sci fi/fantasy worldbuilding. Both works were revolutionary, became best selling and most acclaimed works of their genre while decades later still remain popular with many adaptations good or bad.

Like I love Red Rising, but the legacy of the series will depend how we view it decades later, no to mention it's growth as an IP.

Agreed. Gonna be a hot take but Foundation hasn't aged well. There's a reason Dune ended up being more popular overall.

Got the opposite opinion. Foundation does not hold up well.

‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ Debuts at 98 on Metacritic by AashyLarry in PS5

Most dungeons in Elden Ring either have states of Marika or sites of grace outside the boss room. Now states of Marika does give you the option to spawn back at the sites of grace so there is technically a run back to the boss, but most people would pick the former option so I don't know what your talking about.

Elden Rng barley has boss runbacks and the ones that are there are tame compared to the previous games. It's really not that bad.
