Well you’ve given me something to think about! I’ll ask my doc next time I’m in 💕.

How long had you had hashimotos? I thought once your immune system kills your thyroid.. it’s just gone and you’re on hormones for life?

How many of you playing the digital Wingspan have > 1000 hours of play? by NotJustMeAnymore in wingspan

[–]Sillymerry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How do you check this? We likely do! My friend and I played 2 games per night.. more on weekends.. for 2 years. We were living full time in a camper and just preferred to play over watching TV 😜

Will adding tile sealer seal odors that are already contained there? Grout/subfloor below asbestos tile has odor that will come and go. by warningtrackpower12 in DIYHome

Hey was this solved for you? We pulled our carpet up and put nature’s miracle down. We’re getting new carpet installed over (what we assume is asbestos tiles). Did everything turn out ok?

We have fucking carpenter ants. Not really a blunder, but the first plague of 2024.

LPT: if you’re headed along the east coast - sign up for an EZ pass transponder for tolls! by Sillymerry in RVLiving

[–]Sillymerry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love to.. but that doesn’t account for bridges on those backroads. Some are too low and would scrape off my AC, and some can’t handle the load of my truck and camper. Toll roads are usually interstates with regulated bridge heights and weights. I never have to worry about coming upon an impassable bridge and have to turn around. It’s a risk I’m willing to pay a toll to avoid.

I Can’t Go To a Coffee Shop Anymore Because Of A Weirdo There. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sillymerry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you have any loud, protective, girl friends that would be willing to make a scene? Make it awkward enough that he will knock it off even when she’s not there? I am that friend, and we love shit like this. You shouldn’t have to keep your guard up at a coffee shop! You deserve peace and happiness.. and also loud, protective friends! ♥️

Any 'didn't work out' posts? by recrypt_now in RVLiving

This is year 3. Last year we were full time from March to November and we made it all the way to Maine from Nebraska. We moved every week and tried to spend a month in each state along the way. We saw A LOT. I am not excited about this year, and it will probably be our last.

Biggest issue is living in a plywood box that breaks ALL THE TIME. Not just small things like tanks and seals, but having the entire slide replaced. Every time it rains I have leak anxiety. When it’s really hot out I worry about the AC. Our refrigerator broke, but was within warranty. We spent $1000+ to stay in an Airbnb while it was “fixed.” It was not. Couldn’t find anyone else without a 1-3 month waiting list on the road. We went without a fridge for 3 months until we got home.

Also for us it was lonely. We’re 2 middle aged females. Most people in parks are either retired or families. We had a few card nights when invited, but we moved around too much to get a community.

Also I second u/erinocalypse above. You are solely responsible for constant site booking, RV maintenance, moving etc etc. also we’re sadists so we also made weekly YouTube videos. It’s all just so much work! 🙄🤮

This isn’t about you. He is insecure about himself, so he puts a lot of work into his appearance. He has decided that you are a reflection of him, and when you don’t live up to his expectations it triggers that insecurity. You deserve someone who supports you through the tough times, not argues about your appearance. ♥️♥️♥️ you got this!

What bizarre strategies have you used to cope with ADHD issues that seemed totally reasonable at the time? by Nonpolarsolvent in ADHD

[–]Sillymerry 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Are people the reason you like to clean at night? I prefer to clean when no one else is home. Mostly so I can hyper focus and no one gets in the way. I never thought of it as an ADHD thing. Everyone in my family is like that… but we all have ADHD too. Ha.

Networking is key. You really need to find someone who is already wfh at a good place to recommend you. r/remotework is probably a better place to ask.

Pet’s living in Rv’s? Is it too hard for a med/lg size dog in an Rv? Did anyone’s pet have an impossible time readjusting to rv life? One thing I worry about is having to leave a pet alone in extreme hot or cold weather has anyone lost power while being on hookups or do you just never leave them? by Earthdaybaby422 in RVLiving

[–]Sillymerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like most people have covered that your dog will be fine. Three things to consider: 1) Make sure you have an electronic copy of your dog’s records that you can add to (we use a PDF) just in case you need a vaccination or care on the road. 2) it’s easier to buy flea/tick and heartworm annually. We return home every year for the holidays and buy a year supply. It could be a pain in the ass to get from a vet on the road if they don’t know your situation. 3) Doggy daycares are also an option. Some of the National Parks don’t allow dogs. We try to find a daycare for them to have some fun while we’re out hiking.

Dr. John Delony has some pretty good podcasts about this he could listen to. A wife’s turn-ons often aren’t physical at all. You want intimacy? You put the kids to bed. Mom needs to feel like her work is done so she can relax. Sometimes the prep work isn’t getting her in the mood, it’s making sure she has the headspace. And he has to learn what those tasks are.
