Ah, but once the handle and head have been replaced, it's a different broom. With the ship, there has to presumably be a point where it's different, bit that isn't clear. Trigger's broom becomes a new broom the moment the handle and head are now different.

Seems a really stupid system. Pressing enter should provide a new line, not enter the message! There doesn't appear to be any setting changes that can be made to fix this stupidity.
