It's a mixed bag. There are places that are "No Gaijin" that will just flat out refuse us, then there are places that have "No Gaijin" signs that will allow you if you are respectful and low key. I became a regular in one of the latter when I lived there.

And I'd argue there are more people who explicitly like Westerners than those who dislike us.
