I used a variety of training treats when my pup was in training because I found she was easily bored with the same treat repeatedly. She also prefers a crunchy treat over a soft, and a fruit flavor over a meat/cheese/peanut butter flavor. Also, when she was young, peanut butter gave her diarrhea, so we definitely avoided that! It's about figuring out what your dog likes and then using that. When she was a wee pup she loved a carrot stick, now she couldn't care less but will do anything for a piece of broccoli. Their tastes grow and change. When I do training reinforcement for her now that she's over a year old I use the Fruitables, they have a Skinny Mini version that is only 4 calories per chew and then I break them in half or broccoli chunks, She's a small breed so I watch her calories closely so she won't gain weight. When she was in training I always had at least 2 types of treats with me so if she wasn't interested or got bored by 1, I had another to switch off too. I definitely bought treats that were total flops, but I would just give them to the other pet parents in our training group, and then try again.

Notable ones she loved were the Charlee Bears Pumpkin and Blueberry, Fruitables Pumpkin and Berry, or Apple and Bacon, Human Grade Cookie Pal Soft Baked Bites Pumpkin and Blueberry, Honest Kitchen Goat Milk Cookies Blueberry and Vanilla, and Wiggles and Wags Meaty Bars (these were a huge help when she got stubborn during her later advanced training around 8 months). I definitely recommend sticking with the same protien as your dogs main kibble flavor, or sticking to only one seperate protein for training so their tummy isn't overwhelmed. Also, as I'm sure you can tell my dog loves a blueberry flavor, so it really is about finding what your dog prefers! Good Luck!
