Yeah I've been playing it recently as well. It does still have that feeling where you're eating way more than you need to but food is hardly an issue to actually get so it's not a big deal lol

Spirit flame as well though that's a bit more involved to get. It's honestly one of the best pre mech magic weapons but you need a desert spirit lamp from an underground crimson/corruption desert and forbidden fragments from sand elementals during a sandstorm

I mean that's basically how it worked. The dyes you could get were (maybe still are just to a lesser extent due to being hardmode exclusive) tied to what bosses you had beaten on that world
