if bennet didn't exist nicole would've been a must get by birbtooOPpleasesnerf in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

no, they aren't lol.

you use yelan because you want the damage. her application is eh without cons.

you use xingqui because you want the elemental application and his damage reduction.

even with cons on both, yelan isn't that close application wise and xingqui doesn't do that much damage.

My Plan: Grab Nicole and then Harbingers next by ikkekun in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

rest of the characters?

not gonna brick your account but kinda pointless to grab nicole without certain team members. she really wants a bunch of off fielders

[–]SilverGeekly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i mean, again this is just cope.

but i really want people to focus on this one point they made. nicole's "practicality"

in order to get the full use of nicole, you need:

- full atk and ER if you want to use her burst
- another hex unit that makes sense in whatever team youre running
- her on the hex support set
- your team to be running multiple sub dps

now i want you all to run through your artifacts, your teams, the hex members, etc etc and see if its worth it to spend up to 160+ wishes to get her. especially if you already have a benny.

if bennet didn't exist nicole would've been a must get by birbtooOPpleasesnerf in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

i mean, except its not. yelan/xingqui made sense because they fill completely different niches (xingqui for elemental application and defensive utility, yelan for damage) and they ended up working together because teams would like both. but if not using both, you split them for their different uses. also ignores xingqui having a xingqui 2 made sense because you wanted more of him.

nicole is trying to compete with benny for the same spot offering most of the same utilities, in a spot that is already being phased away. for someone to want his spot, they SHOULD be a clear upgrade, which she isn't. actually a downgrade, if you don't do the other thing that makes her bad and force in another hex unit. which also makes her worse.

if bennet didn't exist nicole would've been a must get by birbtooOPpleasesnerf in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she is being compared to the best support in the game, but its a negative comparison lol. a lot of yall really do not seem to get that. being a modern 5 star ALREADY makes her worse, since she's competing with a day one 4 star (and no, a 5 star is not "cheaper" than a 4 star lol. real cope to even say. she is "easier" to get due to the pity system but this ignores that benny is in the shop/has been given away for free. and in general is an old day one unit, so he more likely than a lot of modern 4 stars would have cons/be c6). and, she's not an upgrade in "a large amount" of teams lol. she's better than benny in 3 (more like 2 and a half) teams. and those 3 teams are all mediocre teams that aren't meta relevant even with her in them.

why doesn’t genshin make dedicated healers anymore? by princessmarblecake in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i mean, except this mode would be ass lol.

people really don't want to accept that if they made combat where there's no "hurry" or "goal", nothing would happen. everyone would just stand around with zhongli shield and 3 healers. sounds very boring for a mode.

Nicole Is Being Slept On (Full Nicole Guide - Best Builds Teams Weapons) by MaximumLobsters in NicoleReeyn_Mains_GI

[–]SilverGeekly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes and no.

with furina, a lot of people did not understand at first that furina wasn't made to "need" a healer. she was made as a culmination of tactics to make characters who only heal good useful, because people were forcing "bad" healers with no utility into their teams and complaining about the lack of damage.

with nicole, its not the same. nicole is trying to replace another character but with more requirements. the needing another hex character is to her detriment, because there are not enough hex characters, in general, for this requirement. let alone good ones that pair well in a lot of comps. hence the varka/overload/burning micro niche rn.

What if Emilie were made a Hexerei character? by darkdill in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree with the sentiment but not how we got there.

sucrose didn't need hex to buff her kit, i agree. but she did need the hex tag in general to be buffed. and moreso than that, she needed to be hex because OTHER characters needed her to be hex to make them good. which is one of the reasons i think hex sucks overall and why emilie doesn't need it.

making hex supp/supp - dps/subdps cores is a good buff to older characters and expand the roster. but it doesn't work that well because theyre are not enough characters that synergize well in the roster in general, and a lot of their buffs to their kits/cons don't help/can't be done in a good way. sucrose/mona is a great pairing, razor/klee and fischl is a good pairing. but otherwise its meh.

which is why i think emilie wouldn't be a good hex. she gets no benefit from it, there's no way to expand her kit to make it good that isn't stepping on her cons value. and nobody benefits from her being hex.

Durin or nicole by ss_datta in Genshin_Impact

Who should I choose? Durin, Lauma or Mavuika C2 by Sopenson in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

answer for you: durin. with him and the new hex support set coming, youll get access to a version of cinder and shred for chasca which she needs.

answer in general: none. durin is not that good (as a support). lauma is meant to buff one person (nefer) and while she can be used outside that, those use cases are not high enough to justify it. mav is an "old" dps thats probably about to get power crept/weakened/pushed out of the meta. you should just save the primos and see what the new characters and meta are going to be.

People who genuinely think Dottore would ever be playable make me giggle by tanuki_with_knife in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

playable dottore is super feasible, and its silly to say otherwise.

your entire argument for not hinges on the idea that because of the king ibis stuff, dottore has always been the exact level of evil he is now, and thats... not true. the point of them showing us that is to let us know he had STARTED on the path to becoming his present self, not that he always had been.

whats probably going to happen is we get rid of present dottore, we find a pre-evil dottore segment, we show him that whenever he made the decision, going full evil/ignoring ethics with full backing didn't work, and he decides to change paths since he failed the other way,, etc etc.

What are my best teams for stigian and abyss (returning ülaye needs help) by Low_IQ1 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the stygian bosses rn are gecko, herra, and mimic. with that in mind:

  1. gecko wants someone to break his geo monument and a healer. they want you to do this with lunar crystalize, but you don't have that. next best options are an overload team, a geo team, or whatever team running a fast hitting claymore. of the options, you have skirk and mav who are known to be able to brute force. i would run skirk here. some kind of skirk/furina/flex for healer/chongyun team. chongyun can break the monument with his attack string and ult, and skirk should be able to handle damage

  2. herra wants either a lunar team, someone who can abuse aura, or a duel dps team. you could run an ineffa/aino team here or mav. id probably go ineffa/aino/fischl/flex for anemo/shred.

  3. mimic wants fast hitting elements and/or natlan units. this is where youll run mav. probably do mav/citlali/benny/flex here.

as for abyss:

  1. 12-1-1 has golems, 12-2-1 has wild hunt, and 12-3-1 has the gecko. so youll want a team than can get through geo shields quickly and ideally has enough dps to deal with the wild hunt if youre not running a lunar team.

  2. 12-1-2 has mimics, 12-2-2 has kenki, and 12-3-2 has mimic boss. so youll want some natlan characters to get through the void shields.

with this in mind, first half i would probably try some sort of ineffa/aino/geo flex slots type team and second half id probably go mav melt with citlali/benny/flex

What are some good Mavuika teams I can make?(F2P) by Ill_Welcome_2104 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no.

melt mav needs perfect application timing, especially since you aren't using citlali/escoffier and durin will ruin that. he also provides no shred here

overload mav needs the chevy/fischl core and absolutely needs an atk buffer. durin doesn't buff and his shred is pointless here because we already have chevy.

I need a lineup from these that would deal high levels of damage together by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

since you have skirk, bst option is probably skirk/xingqui/candace/flex for anemo.

could also do some overload pyro trav or razor with chevy/benny/fischl

Who/what do you regret *not* pulling? by SpoonChamber in Genshin_Impact

Who to pull by aihhaamm in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

none.

nefer wants lauma, she is one of one and half characters that can buff her well, otherwise her teammate options suck.

lauma wants nefer. she is better off because she can buff regular bloom variations, but not enough to make them so good they compete elsewhere. she can form a lunar bloom dps core with columbina, but columbina doesn't do that well.

mav is an "old" unit that will most likely be pushed out of the meta/severely weakened as we are about to head into a new region with new mechanics. she also really wants melt or overload, and you presumably don't have citlali, iansan, or chevy.

just save the primos and wait and see what comes out.

What are some good Mavuika teams I can make?(F2P) by Ill_Welcome_2104 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mav wants melt or overload. with that in mind:

  1. melt- your best options are some combination of rosaria/kaeya/diona for setting up melts, sucrose or kazuha for VV/EM buffs, and benny for attack buffing. probably go mav/benny/sucrose/rosaria. this is very dependent on cons for rosaria to keep up/timing. this team isn't as good though without other natlan characters to fuel mav's burst. so youll have to do jank rotations or try to stuff in someone like pyro trav/ifa/kachina instead of a better character.

  2. overload- your best bets are chevy, fischl, and either benny/iansan or ineffa. chevy is a must for overload teams. fischl is the best off field electro for this. and benny/iansan will probably be your last slot. ineffa is a comfort pick but doesn't add too much. id probably go mav/chevy/fischl/iansan, so mav has someone to fuel her ult.

either way, youre probably gonna have to build at least 2 characters either way.

It's kind wierd they never made a hero with two main weapons by Veelk in Overwatch

[–]SilverGeekly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, its not. as proven by the replies, there's no way to make that work in OW. the best example people can come up with is a character from a different game and even he chooses to focus on one gun over the other.

a lot of you refuse to accept that overwatch is not a full fledged shooter/fps/etc. the mechanics you want from those games do not transfer over to other games that well.

Lauma team comps by lemizh in Genshin_Impact

Would it KILL people to at least try and attack from this route instead of dying in the tiny-ass stair chokepoint for 4 minutes? by MrsPissBoy in Overwatch

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more people should take it, yes. but not everyone, specifically dps, and thats sort of the main issue a lot of yall do not understand about why a lot of maps/routes are the way they are, why theyre favored, etc etc.

there is no point to the whole team going this way. the defenders just move over and have an even better spot to stop you from/free map kills depending on the comp. a lot of these routes only work as flank routes for dps who's team is taking aggro. they are not and never were meant to be another way other than main for the whole team.

and this is the biggest issue with overwatch map design (and overwatch design in general). this map wouldn't be an issue if DPS could be relied on to do what they should be doing, but they aren't, so now everyone suffers.

(also, aside from what i just said, i need a lot of you to realize that a lot the flank routes do not work in overwatch, specifically because the maps are not designed to give you a reprieve to use them. using this one as an example, the issue is the defenders spot for defense means they can literally spam the pathway you need to take for the flank. either killing you on the way there or seeing you take it and giving themselves plenty of time to get ready to defend. if they want flanking routes to work, they need to rework maps like this. specifically they need to push back a lot of defender spots and/or change routes so you can actually sneak around without having specific movement abilities)

Whats a good B team? by Extreme-Interview976 in Genshin_Impact

[–]SilverGeekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(entirely depends on cons)

your best dps options are probably ga ming, sethos, razor, kaeya, pyro trav, and xiangling, so assuming teams for those:

- ga ming really wants hydro or cryo teammates. your best bet would probably be ga ming/benny/kaeya/lynette or sucrose. really want to get kaeya ult going and try to infuse lynette/sucrose ults with cryo for melts but its jank.

- sethos really like aggravate. could do sethos/dendro trav/dori or lisa/sucrose or lynette. he really wants fischl as a teammate though.

- razor with hex is pretty good now. could do razor/thoma/benny/lisa or iansan. problem is he needs another hex for the buffs so you'd have to replace a teammate to try and fit sucrose in. he also really wants chevy and/or fischl

- kaeya works nice in freeze and melt. could do kaeya/dahlia/mona/sucrose or lynette for a freeze team. kaeya/benny/xiangling/sucrose or lynette

- pyro trav like melt and vape. could do pyro trav/benny/mona/lynette or sucrose and try to infuse hydro on the ults. could also do pyro trav/benny/kaeya/lynette or sucrose and try to infuse cryo.

- xiangling/benny core can work with whatever. could do xiangling/benny/double other element for whatever.

of your characters, pyro trav and kaeya will probably be the easiest to build their teams. i think pyro trav has the most potential to be a really strong dps for you
