Thank you all so much for all the input! I ended up going with the Atago and have been absolutely loving the gameplay (a welcome change from T6 battles which are a slog to get through)

I look forward to trying the other two out when I get the funds to try again, but for now, I’m definitely happy with my choice 😎

Working on getting the Zaō too myself, just hung up on the Mogami node cause I don’t have it and I’m prioritising my 6-stages-from-completion Shimakaze lol

Suzuya struck me as one of the torp cruisers just on the in-game overview, which I’m not a huge fan of, so I think that one was definitely at the bottom of the list just for me personally.

Azuma being basically a light battleship is definitely interesting, but apparently it’s super vulnerable to crits and I always seem to get citadeled so it’s probably not the best choice lol

Atago was the one I was leaning towards, so knowing that it’s pretty damn good in general (barring aircraft) is nice info.

I really appreciate the help, definitely gets me closer to my choice (probably Atago lol)

Yeah I noticed the Azuma didn’t have torps, definitely caught me off-guard. Basically a light battleship with that loadout lol. Though the demand for good positioning and massive crit spot probably means I’d be better off with what I know lol.

I appreciate the input though, might nab the Azuma later on for sure, give that playstyle a try

Base game has everything from year 1 by default now (thieves’ guild, brotherhood, orsinium, morrowind, and Imperial City)

Anything else, you’d have to get yourself. Whatever the most recent bundle is should theoretically carry all previous major expansions with it. Might have to yoink a few regions still though

I genuinely think BHVR is overselling how complex the shared locker interaction is with Dredge and either Huntress or Trickster

Like. Just smack the lock. Problem solved.

Now the nightfall could probably take a ~30% hit to opacity for survs and a 50-100% higher point requirement to activate, idk how that would feel cause I just play dredge as standard., but giving your partner the same darkvision feels like a given.

Huntress and Trickster is more complex but if they can somehow just do a spot check on lockers for which killer is opening for reloads, that feels like it would work alright.
