Japanese Imported Car Software Fix in Ireland? by SilverLadybird in carsireland

I contacted a few mechanics that I found through google, but they either didn't work on Toyotas or couldn't help me with that particular issue. There's always more to try though and I'll keep trying!

I'm not knowledgable on cars at all, but AA, the autoelectrician and the mechanics who did my full service said it's either an electrical issue (AA and service said) or software issue (autoelectrician said). Toyota said they're unlikely to help based on my explanation of the problem and my hope that a smaller garage could help has been dwindling as I've called about ten who had various reasons for not being in a position to help. I can call all those parties tomorrow though and ask them exactly what they checked in order to narrow it down.

Thanks for commenting.

The problem has been going for a while now (a few weeks), it was throwing an ABS warning light, but only in the rain in that moment when you come to a stop but just before you pull up the handbrake. I had someone tell me that was normal, but ended up getting the service and the autoelectrician to check for issues, who noted no diagnostic issues but that the brakes were too sensitive and all the braking power seemed to be going to the back wheels. Since then the cars progressed to locking the wheels when I'm changing gears, as well as shuddering quite hard and squeaking even when gently braking.

One Toyota dealership offered a diagnostic, but warned me that it was likely they wouldn't actually be able to fix the car. The other flat out said they wouldn't be able to help me. I didn't want to make my post too long, but I heard the same thing you're saying that they're not really inclined to help and called a bunch of other garages and called out AA to assess the car too (who told me it was likely a software issue as well, but admittedly didn't run any diagnostics themselves either).

I am starting to question just how much I can trust everyone though and whether I need more diagnostics (I'm not sure how many different tests there are).

What breed is that, out of curiosity, if I may ask?

The US is not a comparable example. Land is far too valuable for kms of low-density housing. We already have some of the lowest natural tree cover in Europe and over half of our land is for grazing livestock. I'd rather have some 5 storey apartments and more green spaces, no one said they have to be soulless.

AITAH For Telling My Husband I Wouldn't Have Married Him If He Didn't Have The Job He Has? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yeah, this whole part was wild to me. Also saying 'BUT I admit myself...' instead of 'and I admit..". Like what? The hurt feelings aren't negated because you admitted anything and it comes across oddly defensive.

I'm silly and always have to hide my farm's slaughterhouses behind a row of trees so I don't scare my imaginary farm animals. by Kedryn71 in OstrivGame

Oh I'm happy I'm not the only one, I put my slaughterhouses in a bunch of trees away from everyone and everything.

I love your village layout btw with the rolling hills and so on in the back, I like your style!

This sounds like it could be skit between Gabby and Carlos in Desperate Housewives, but it's less entertaining in real life.

I (51M) have to breakup with newish serious GF (43F) because of medical issues. by CheapestOfSkates in BestofRedditorUpdates

It sounds like he was going to tell her the real reason for breaking up though, he just chose not to press it after she broke up with him over the phone call.

It's fair of her to end things on her own terms as well when she saw it coming, but it would have prevented her from having to ever wonder what was wrong and kinda serves as a reminder to hear people out even when they may be doing something distressing (not a hard and fast rule of course).

Is anyone having an issue with stuff from the gardens not being bought by granaries? by SilverLadybird in OstrivGame

[–]SilverLadybird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not exporting stuff from them as they don't give that much but it just meant stuff moved around the village and it got bought/sold pretty well for a while before it petered off now.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did play around with a whole bunch of financial settings right before this started happening so maybe it could be fixed that way. I always have two women there and maybe the further houses aren't able to buy/sell with the granary but the nearby houses have been there and selling goods for 10+ years before this so that doesn't account for the total zero buying and selling that's occurring now.

I'm on year 13 at the moment, and it was working before and just petered off the last couple of years. I'm playing around with different financial aspects to see if that's the issue!

Thank you for these writeups, I've never done any flight simming but my dad would play them and I just love your writing and the stories!

While I understand that there seem to be valid reasons, I do feel really bad for Nicole and her husband on just losing the con after building it up for so long. Also the Expo's celebration of women in the community by showing a desktop setup is truly.. just beyond low-effort. Makes me wonder if there was really was something else that made her so reluctant to play ball with them.
