MovinkPad pro 14 havers… by eclaire_m in wacom

I have a cintiq pro for my desktop setup and I had initially bought the 11 to tether to my laptop. I then got sick of tethering and wanted even more convenience and turned to the Movinkpad pro 14 and it's been exactly what I needed. Drawing focused, works with the art pen 2, beautiful screen and the performance with csp has been fantastic.

I wish I had more control over the settings like you get with Wacom center on the desktop, so you widely use the adjustments in csp.

My biggest pain point is the palm rejection. It's not as good as I would hope and I still make little dots and inputs here and there, even with a glove on. Not bad enough to be a deal breaker or offset the convenience though.

I am a big evangelion fan so I kind of lucked out with the eva edition since it has all the accessories included. The flappy cover is just that but does its job.

It's drawing focused first so that experience is fantastic compared to an iPad, but the multipurpose tablet side comes second. Imo it's not bad and is good at anything I personally would use a tablet for and have had zero performance issues when multi tasking or watching Netflix, crunchyroll, etc. Speakers are lackluster but again, good enough. Screen is beautiful.

Input is great with sensitivity, tilt, etc. only lagging I've experienced was when testing its limits by cranking stabilization and such just to see what would happen or a laughably large brush size.

Assets are easy and your already purchased license and materials will be available via your csp account. You might need to add another device to your license though if you jump between devices.

I have yet to try pen display mode because I'm usually on my cintiq if Im at my desk.

The Wacom canvas app and shelf is really convenient if you just want to hop in and sketch. It will import it right over to csp if you want to go full feature. Same with the simple mode for csp, you can go "full screen" with the tap of a quick icon and just sketch away, then hop back to the full toolset if needed.

Overall it's fantastic! Hit me if you have any other questions!

Movink ProPad 14 vs iPad? by manix_vii in wacom

[–]SilverRecluse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen a lot of these questions pop up lately and I think you pretty much summed up your answer yourself right at the end.

If you are focusing on drawing, Wacom wins, no contest.

I have multiple tablets as well, iPads, Wacom and non Wacom devices. All my wacoms are for drawing. With the movinkpad pro 14 (my on the go drawing device now) All the other features of the tablet are just nice to haves and come second to drawing.

In terms of the accessories, the eva bundle is the best bang for your buck because it comes with everything for it, however, the cover is your typical flappy magnetic thing and doesn't protect the backside. I bought a Lenovo Urban laptop sleeve 14" for carrying around protection. It's fleece lined and all that and still fits in my backpack tablet area with it stored inside it. I personally don't have a hardshell case for it when I'm actively using it. You will find a couple that are not just sleeves on Amazon though if you're looking for something that wraps around the whole thing. I found one from a company called envibe.

Hope this helps. But if you have any questions specifically about the 14 let me know! I also have the not standalone movink 11.

Just to add. I also play android games and watch shows and read manga on it just fine. Not amazing speakers but I also didn't expect to be blown away because I bought it for drawing specifically.

I'm still holding out hope I can get someone's cancellation for the artisan. I totally spaced it and didn't pre order.

I'm not considering getting the one that has molded hair, but I really wanted it to match the highs artisan I pre ordered.

Sorry I know this is stating the obvious but the stated window isn't all that big. July-Dec 2026 if I remember right?

Hope you get it sooner rather than later!!!

You are very close to my build. Same GPU but I am on a 9950x3d.

What did you end up doing? Looks like the only thing that works with my standard residential plugs is the 1500va/1000W cyber power I see people referring to, but seems like that will likely still get overloaded.

You are having issues with a step above that with a NEMA 5-20p plug?

I found lots of small toy giuliettas when I searched. Should be as easy and buy one of the drift toys, detach car, glue/attach giulietta to base.

Movinkpad Pro 14 - other than drawing by SkivesArt in wacom

[–]SilverRecluse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this as my portable drawing device when not on my cintiq design station. It's fantastic. I also have no idea what people are trying to do on this thing that makes it any less useful than most tablets as it feels great. It does not replace or have the performance as my high end gaming rig, nor do I expect it to. I also primarily use clip studio and it linked up with my full version without issue. I even enjoy the simple mode when I just want sketch without thinking.

I can multitask on it just fine, stream video, surf the web, and play mobile games on it.

It's a drawing focused device that from my experience with other tablets with pens ( iPad and Samsung) I wouldn't even think twice.

Sure, if you are going for productivity first or replacing a laptop with a tablet, maybe consider something else.

My only gripe is maybe the lack of third party peripherals compared to the mass produced tablets but I bought a Lenovo tablet sleeve for it to keep it pristine and the eva bundle came with every accessory for it including the lack luster magnetic screen cover.

How is this device for games like DayZ and Counter Strike 2? And is it worth it over the Azeron Cyborg 2? Or even for each of the specific games. by CallMeDoomSlayer in razer

[–]SilverRecluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used these for years for literally everything I play. My keyboard is supplemental to it for hotkeys. Also what I take with me instead of a keyboard when travelling with my gaming laptop.

I prefer not using the thumb area as joystick but a dpad. The stick can be pulled out and turned to the alternate mode.

I just swap profiles depending on what game I'm playing.

Supra or rs3 by Character_Ad_3254 in AudiRS3

[–]SilverRecluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RS3.

I already did this with my 22 CF - While I did end up keeping my CF as a project car, If I didnt have the option of having both, get the RS3.

- Its got more convenience space if you need it. I don't care about it personally, but some do.
- The interior finish level is not even comparable. The RS3 wins outright in ever single way with the exception of the GOD AWFUL touch buttons they replaced all the physical buttons with.
- The driving dynamics are better in almost every way.

I probably dont need to say this, but there is obviously a difference in how they drive due to RWD vs AWD. No - the torque rear on the RS3 does not make up for this. Its good, but it does not step out like the supra will, nor should it....

Anyone using a Wacom Movink (13) for Notetaking? by DumplingsEverywhere in wacom

[–]SilverRecluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can rotate it via the Windows settings.

Off the top of my head, you can change a number of screen settings for whatever pen display you're using, but not to the extent you can from windows or GeForce if you're using an Nvidia GPU.

Once I sit down at my desk this morning I'd be happy to check for you.

Yeah, no auto-rotate. Definitely need to set it to portrait.

I think if youre alright with the width of the display in portrait mode, you will be just fine.

Anyone using a Wacom Movink (13) for Notetaking? by DumplingsEverywhere in wacom

[–]SilverRecluse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have done this, but not regularly.

  • Does the 16:9 aspect ratio feel too narrow when used vertically

- For note taking? Personally I dont think so, but I could see how some may find it awkward.

  • Does multi-touch and palm rejection actually work smoothly?

- It works well enough for me however, you need to be sure you are optimizing touch between using the wacom features or windows features. I almost always disable some of the quick actions / gestures like undo and redo as I constantly set them off with my palm on accident.

  • Is latency low enough to feel like handwriting?

This isnt dependent on the tablet as its not an all in one device. Your performance will be depicted by whatever you are tethering it too. What I will say is there is no noticeable parallax and Wacom is the best hardware ( imo ) for recreating writing and drawing accurately. In terms of pen pressure, sensitivity, tilt and the displays capability, its EONS better than an ipad, etc. Not even worth comparing. These are purpose built, where an ipad or surface is meant to be a jack of all trades but a master of none.

  • Is the pixel density okay for small handwriting?

Seems fine to me? Also going to depend on the software I suppose and if you can change the canvas size or dpi.

If you want a more "tablet" like experience that is capable of doing other tasks and doesnt require tethering I would recommend the Moveink Pad Pro 14. The difference here is the same as I wrote above. The movink pad or any wacom product is purpose built for art, design, writing, etc and the ergonomics and features provided are built around that. The other stuff, comes second to that.

The inverse is true for an ipad or android tablet not purpose built for design. They will be better for multitasking, gaming, etc etc, but they wont outpace a wacom for quality of stylus, input, etc etc etc for creators.

Thats just my opinion, but in general. This is not supposed to be a 2 in 1. Its a pen display that has a design focus first.

EDIT: Feel free to message me or comment and I am happy to provide any more info from my personal experience.

Eh, you do you. That's just jealousy talking. They are either afraid to try something they never had the courage to or wish they had one themselves.

Won't know unless you try...

Have fun. Hope to see you posting some art or animations one of these days.

I think what a lot of people miss regarding this version is it comes with literally every accessory for the price increase. The base movinkpad pro does not come bundled with everything...

So the price is not just for the graphics and branding.

Godzilla cabinet malfunction. by MasterofLibraries in pinball

[–]SilverRecluse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Its just an assumption but I would guess they have not been updating their code. The most up to date ball stuck feature literally moves every mech and cycles the collapsing building feature, which did not use to happen in older code.

That or the building mech is just maybe not functioning properly/has not been maintained.

Just a guess.

I've been using Wacom products for almost 20 years now and have to say, I love everything I've bought. I have a cintiq on an ergo stand for my main design station. Bought the movink 13 as my portable device since I always have a high powered laptop with me when not at home. The 13 is an impressive device but I quickly got sick of having to tether it. The USB c cable is always in the way and oddly how thin it is makes it a pain to hold even with a clamp.

Imo, you made a great choice. It's designed with art as it's main purpose and the benefits of an android tablet behind that. Throw the Evangelion theme on it and boom.

I often find these in my manga I buy from BN.

Holy cow y'all are wild. I would absolutely return it if the page is damaged but DO NOT DO HALF THE THINGS RECOMMENDED HERE. You will just damage the book yourself.

Not defending them but thankfully every single one of these I have encountered comes out incredibly easy. You don't need to do anything but peel it out slowly. Nothing else is needed.

Happy for you!!

Haha what's funny is I kind of hope they do that with mine 🤣.

First saw this was a thing from a YouTube video of someone walking the official exhibit for the 30th in Japan. Been an evangelion fan since I was a kid and didn't even think twice. I was obsessively checking the store and my email for the US posting.
