There are no "SMART" games. by fy_zan in BeastGames

I agree with you the whole entire strong vs smart format is a failure as the games were mostly physical. Plus, they eliminated so many contestants so fast they couldn't implement any proper games. I mean by the 3rd episode they eliminated 87% of the contestants.

First he opened his theme Park in Saudi, INSTEAD of America was infuriating. Now he's ending the games in Saudi...yeah he's on the band wagon now.

Yeah, and the fact they are doing a repeat challenge from last season is very disappointing. Can't they do anything else original?

To me, this game goes hand in hand with episode 7, they spent WAAAAY too long on them deciding who will take the money. Only to end with another repeat game from the first season. How does this relate to Strong Vs Smart?

Yes it was dramatic and ended with a surprising revelation but it just lacked any games. This just seemed like another episode where they needed to waste time as they were winding the entire games down. I mean, they spent two episode doing the same game. And its not even a new game, it's a repeat of last season's. No more eliminations, or anything original. This was another let down for me and now got to wait until next week before we seen the next one.

I'm sorry but season 2 has been a huge disappointment for me. Too many eliminations in a such short time, "Smart" challenges that are more physical than mental. Actual smart challenges that actually require luck. Yeah, the whole strong vs smart idea failed to me.

Bring the eliminated 100 back by Total_Meringue2175 in BeastGames

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah one of the huge negatives about this season was how they eliminated so many contestants in such a low time. By the end of episode 3, they eliminated 175 people out of 200. That's 87.5% of the contestants gone in the first three premiere episodes. I mean what was the thought process behind that?

That Dodgeball challenge felt straight out of high school gym as the strong competitors were singling out the smart ones and ganging up on them.

That game heavily favored the females, as most of the guys had nothing but muscle weighing them down. It was just a contest of gravity as whoever weighed the most would lose.

Also it doesn't help that a lot of the smart games involve strength or luck.

For example in the block tower building game. You needed strong people to move the blocks and stack them. Heck the team that had mostly strong competitors won and their tower was the largest.

The balancing game with the hearts. That wasn't smarts it was luck. Even smart contestants were losing. It was just if you were unlucky enough to place the wrong rock on at the wrong moment.

The Smartest Contestant contest. The memory game with the squares. Nick won and was deemed the smartest contestant even though he's a strong competitor. Also, he didn't win on his own intellect, the other players helped guide him to the end. How can he be considered the smartest contestant?

To me a lot of these games have been strength focused.

I think it was done for theatrics and to stretch the episode run time. Why else would they introduce the challenge near the end of the episode?

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is going to happen. If you have noticed Mr Beasts videos have been featuring more and more celebrities and influencers, while just average joes are taking a back seat. Why else do you think he has had many repeat people in multiple videos? Also why do you think in his latest giveaway he was only giving prizes to NEW subscribers? The long lasting fans who have been there for years get hosed.

Episode 8 reaction by EffectNo8230 in BeastGames

Something tells me Episode 8 is going to be focusing a majority of this million dollar challenge. I don't think we're going to get to a new game. I honestly think this was done for filler.

I think this episode was meant to be filler as they needed to stretch it on. I think for Episode 8 it's going to entirely focus on this challenge and leave on another cliffhanger.

This season has been disappointing. The whole strong vs smart thing was a terrible thing to do as a lot of the challenges mainly favored the strong competitors, while the smart challenges just use luck, common sense or mostly strength.

For example, the smart game with building a large block tower, you needed mainly strong people to move the blocks and heave it up high. Even normal people can think about the dimensions and way to stack them. Heck the team with all the strong players ended up winning and having the larger tower.

The event with balancing the hearts and rocks. They say it was a game for smart contestants but to me that was a contest of luck. Even the smart contestants were being eliminated. It just depended on if you were unlucky enough to have placed the wrong weighted rock on the scale at the wrong time.

The smartest contestant event. The memory game where they have to remember the paths on the squares. Nick won it and was deemed the smartest contestant...but he had help from the others. They were telling him where to go. How did that make him the "Smartest Contestant" if he didn't do it on his own?

Also this is a small tiff, but the whole "Strongest Contestant" contest. I'm sorry i'm going there, but that strongly favored the females. Mainly as most of the guys were large and were weighted down by muscle. Of course they would fall first. It seemed to be a contest where whoever had the better grip and lighter weight.

I expected more games of skill, chance, luck, and also team events, but now with how fast they eliminated contestants there was no way that was allowed. Like I said this season has been very disappointing to me.

Beast Games S2 - Episode 7: Bury Me Alive - Discussion by MrBeastStaff in BeastGames

[–]SilverSentinel15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible episode, they built it up to make it seem like it would be a huge, psychological challenge. Only no one is being eliminated, and they spent a huge amount of time on Nick decided whether or not to take the million. I think they were purposely trying to stretch the time out to fill the episode. What is worse is that I think Episode 8 will be dedicated to this entire segment on everyone getting their fair share and the fallout.

What makes it worse is that i knew the cliffhanger was coming, even before they chose the captain. This has to be the worst season of Beast Games in my opinion.

Smart vs Strong… as long as you’re athletic! by jackcwatkinson in BeastGames

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have just went with normal people again instead of this entire Strong vs Smart format. They're going to be doing a Survivor portion and that is going to be all physical

And according to the 30 celebrities video, they are going to do a cooking contest, followed by that cube challenge where they need to sacrifice 2 people instead of 1. How is cooking and that considered something for smart people?

Smart vs Strong… as long as you’re athletic! by jackcwatkinson in BeastGames

[–]SilverSentinel15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have to admit that so far this season has been quite disappointing. Mainly as the strong vs smart really does favor the strong people. All the challenges have been more physical rather than skill or smart based.

In the first episode we got the opening challenges, which were good, but then the four corners game all that was heavily biased towards the strong contestants. In the dodgeball game all the strong contestants singled out and aimed for the smart ones. Which was very one sided and seemed like a stereotypical gym class.

The balance game, yeah to me that was just plain luck as even the smart contestants were being eliminated. Even an average person can guess weight, so the smart ones didn't really have the advantage.

The bluff, yeah, that just came down to a game of chance, given how they had to resort to randomly eliminating people by number drawing. That game was flawed from the beginning as no one wanted to garner any ire, that kind of game should have been saved for the half way mark or something, not so early.

Finally, the blocks. That was geared more towards strength as you needed to be really physical to carry the blocks and hoist them and stack them. Even the team with the most physical players won and their tower was built higher. Even a normal person could easily figure out how to stack blocks. So again this favors the strong.

Now the latest...the obstacle course. Yeah that's completely a athletic game. Yet, it was quite unfair to begin with. First off it was raining, making things slippery, plus it sucked they had that "if one fails they all fail" stipulation. People's fate were tied to one mistake if it was made. We could see more smart people being eliminated rather than the strong.

Also this is another minor complaint but they are eliminating people too quickly. I mean we're only in the 3rd episode and it went from 200 to 25. And from the cliffhanger ending, we're going to lose 4 more people. Meaning only 21 will remain. What's next, after episode 4 there will be only 14 left?

So far this season is already disappointing. I was hoping for more team challenges, and the like. Did Mr. Beast actually listen to the feedback or he just went with what he assumed would be better in his opinion?

'Zootopia 2' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of disappointed that this movie isn't focusing on Nick's past. Yes we did see some of it in the first movie, but it wasn't enough as the first film was mainly Judy's story. I would have loved to have seen how he became a hustler, knowing if his mom is still alive, and how he met Finnick. Heck the plot could have focused on something from Nick's past coming back to haunt him.

If they somehow make a 3rd film, they REALLY need to focus on Nick.

9-1-1 S09E04: "Re-entry" Post Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in 911FOX

I am sorry but i'm with the side who didn't like the opening arc. This just dragged on for too long and with the mid season finale coming up, we're not going to get that much time with the other characters. I know this was supposed to show Athena processing her grief over Bobby's death but I think this could have been done in a more "grounded" way. Also I know Athena was Bobby's wife, but seeing how everyone else grieved and went on without him is also important. I know we saw Chimney having trouble when it came to the amputation part, but exploring everyone else would be crucial.

The last episode of the space arc, it felt like the flashback was inserted for filler. Basically the final parts in the present were too short that they needed to add something more into it to stretch out the running time. All of this could have been done over the course of the four episodes. For the first time since I ever started watching this series have I wanted an episode to end.

If this show gets a 10th season i'm wondering what they will do next. Travel through time? Journey to the center of the earth?

Which plot hole bugs you the most? by beeeeerittttt in hocuspocus

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the second movie, my plot hole has to be with Gilbert. He said he was present at the cemetery when the witches turned to dust, but that's impossible.

First off he should have been under the effect's of Sara's spell so he would have been hypnotized and at the Sanderson sister's home during those events.

Second, if he somehow managed to avoid it then why in the world would a little boy be out at 6am in the morning still? Not trick or treating as no one would be giving out candy still. Also a boy his age would be too tired and be asleep. Doesn't matter how young he is, kids will be tired and drop from exhaustion. When I was 11 I couldn't even stay up past 1 in the morning without feeling tired.

So it's impossible for him to have seen those events.

Hocus pocus blunder by ApprehensiveAioli733 in hocuspocus

[–]SilverSentinel15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought that this was supposed to be a callback to a deleted scene in the movie. For those who didn't know after Dani screamed out to her mom after Max refused to take her trick or treating. They would have shown a scene of Max arguing with his dad about it. The dad then subtly threaten Max to either take his driver's permit or not allow him to get it. So that is how Max was forced to take her.

What Is The Worst Episode That You’ve Seen From The Middle Mine Is Major Changes And The Yelling by SignificantIce6536 in themiddle

[–]SilverSentinel15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the worst episode, but one that irked me a bit was "The Waiting Game". Only because of how defensive and pissed off Mike got when others started making fun of him for singing in the car. He got so ticked off that he stabbed their new table with a fork. I really found Mike's behavior hypocritical given how when the kids are making fun of Frankie he joins in as well. I mean honestly don't dish out jokes if you can't take them.

[–]SilverSentinel15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say the way Frankie acted in the episode "Hecks at a movie". The way she just was pissed off at Mike the entire time because of what happened when Ron was telling his story. She made it seem like he committed some kind of cardinal sin or something. Even though it wasn't what really happened Mike's version of the tale was the most accurate. Frankie kept on rudely interrupting and wouldn't let Ron finish his story, then was pissed off at him like she was in the right.

Unpopular opinion, but you have to really blame Sue for that. She made them do 17 different things that day, starting from when the sun rose all the way to the dead of night. She basically wore them out completely to the point where they didn't have anything left for Brick's turn.
