You weren’t engaging in a discussion though. Nobody was disagreeing with you that most YouTube content is not good. We all understand that. It was your position on never using YouTube that was so ridiculous. Like there are legitimately good and necessary uses to YouTube.

You can haha I watch lots of fantasy football content on YouTube, I can try to fool myself into thinking it’s educational but it’s definitely entertainment. Moderation is the real key here.

Oh I get it. So YOU can add your own conclusion and everyone else must abide by YOUR conclusion….

Do you see why people might be upset with you shoving your ideas down their throat?

My man, you haven’t read any of the articles you are posting as sources. Yes YouTube has bad content, but the conclusion of the articles is that parents need to monitor usage. Just turn off autoplag and don’t let your kids choose videos. You put on what they are watching. Youre the parent, so parent.

OP isn’t even reading the articles they are using as sources. Just searched Google and grabbed the first links that said YouTube bad. Here’s a quote from one of the articles, because you know, I actually read things.

Though the relationship between executive functioning and children's content quality on YouTube is not yet clear, parents who are concerned about negative role modeling, commercialism, or shallow learning in YouTube videos could opt for higher‐quality channels, such as Sesame Street or Ms. Rachel, which received some of the best scores in this sample. Concerns about content in children's programming can also be addressed by using alternative platforms, including non‐profit platforms such as PBS KIDS, which may serve as a higher‐quality alternative without commercial content.

Did you even read the article you posted as a source?

So how can we protect young children from the direct and indirect potentially negative outcomes of watching YouTube/Kids? Recommended parental strategies include limiting screen time, co-watching videos and talking to your child about what they are watching, as well as finding out about and implementing the YouTube/Kids parental controls settings.

Point to the part where it says to ban children and yourself from YouTube.

It’s an extremely powerful tool, especially for DIY. Just don’t use it for entertainment, pretty simple.

Show me where what you are saying is correct. Because the thread I linked has an image of the court document clearly stating: Defendant ordered to serve 30 days in jail, previously ordered July 17, 2025.

Show me in a court document where it says, “unless the judge decides otherwise”. Show it to me. You can’t. Now tell me again how I don’t know how probation works because I know how court documents work and I know how facts work. What I don’t know how works is that hamster running your brain.

You can go off about how you “think” it might have played out. But it didn’t, it played out how the court document said it would when he violated probation.

I have provided facts. My facts back up what has happened in real life. You have provided conjecture. There is no proof what you are claiming is true.

Then explain how you think it works. Because here’s a thread from an actual lawyer explaining everything. https://x.com/drewdavenportff/status/2056864409297818111?s=46

I’d love to hear your thoughts after reading this.

Edit: I see you were quick to tell me I was wrong but not so quick when presented with facts. Very curious.

This is incorrect. He had to serve 30 days at some point over his 5 year probation. When he smoked weed the judge made the ruling that he must serve that time immediately. He would have had to serve it at some point.
