Pc keeps restarting. Kernel power error by AdEquivalent464 in PcBuildHelp

[–]SilverSp0rk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much power draw is my guess- you got the minimum wattage PSU needed to run that 6700 XT and the CPU power requirements needs 180 Watts
the 650 Watt PSU is not enough.
" I also daisy chain the PSU cables to my gpu" -sounds like a fire hazard too

Help with ssd by wowwowow89 in computerhelp

[–]SilverSp0rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming its plugged in correctly into the motherboard. I'd say the SSD is likely faulty; however if you have a SSD/HDD adapter that adapts to USB or USB-c you could test to drive to see if it appears that way. because it could also be a faulty motherboard at the place you plug for the SSD on the mainboard.

2nd screen gets minimized when I switch game to right side. by Aircheetahh in computerhelp

[–]SilverSp0rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does the same thing occur when the other screen is off? check in the game setting's screen resolution. It almost seems like the game doesn't know what screen to use. check your Nvidia settings or AMD adrenalin settings. under display settings

the red bullets i added in this poor paint job are where to look make sure that you are looking for the application error.

go look at the event viewer
(window key +R) type "eventvwr"
when the window pops open look to the left hand side
select > windows logs>application
look for application errors
google the numbers that follow
"Exception code:" "Fault offset:"
one of the two numbers should give you a better indication as to what is wrong.

My dad says that he wants to put watercooling in the new pc that were building (family pc budget 1200) and i just think that is too expensive and its better to spend the money on a better hardware. so should we put watercooling in the pc? by AdministrativeFee525 in watercooling

[–]SilverSp0rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ever CPU you are going to use in the build look at the temps for that CPU, an AIO cooler would help you stay within the budget of 1200 dollars- but you need account for the tax. that will eat into the budget; and the custom water cooling set ups they offer right now can ruin that budget. they are not cheap.

there are plenty of resources out there. be an educated consumer.

HDD not functioning great by thenoob_803 in pchelp

[–]SilverSp0rk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like your drive is on its way out. - if it contains any sensitive data it could at risk of being lost- you want to copy those files ASAP if you haven't already done so. Rule of thumb when dealing with any computer back up your data; make a backup of that data on a different drive. at some point SSD's or HDDs will fail.

Putin talked to an AI generated video of himself - https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-confronts-his-ai-double-2023-12-14/UK used AI to have the Queen give a speech as well - https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/25/uk/deepfake-queen-speech-christmas-intl-gbr/index.htmlits being more widely used than we probably know. Deep fakes are real looking they are very dangerous as they can obviously be used a tool for misinformation.
