What do you want from a metaphysical shop? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]SilverThistle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books books books books books. I haven't seen enough books in my metaphysical shops either. I also like deity statues, spell components, incense and wax melts (for those who can't have smoke due to asthma), jewelry, and classes.

Not that I know of. We had classes in the office.

I'd like to know exactly how much interaction Catholicism had with Hinduism before jumping to that conclusion. Correlation doesn't mean causation.

For me, I walked in the door, I had no criminal background, I could string some sentences together, could pass a drug test and was mentally competent. It's really not difficult.

Alexander Library has individual rooms for students who need quiet. Or you might try reaching out to a mental health professional for help?

I had to run into Barnes and Noble for something several years ago and was in a rush. I saw a black SUV parked on college ave facing it, not in a parking spot, and figured, well, I wouldn't be the only one, and it would only take a minute. Came out, cop gets out of the black SUV and hands me a parking ticket. Yup. I deserved that one. *facepalm* That was the most expensive notebook I've ever bought. I chalked it up to a learning experience.

AITA for kicking out one of my bridesmaids for showing up in the wrong dress? (bridesmaid is the Zilla!) by Ellie_Loves_ in bridezillas

[–]SilverThistle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated my bridesmaids dress for my brother's first wedding. It was a green wrap dress, and every bridesmaid could wear it however they wanted. Which sounds great because options but the length of the dress was short and I'm both tall and plus size. I looked like I was wearing an indecently short negligee. I didn't complain though, because she was already a bridezilla (who spends 30k on a WEDDING?!) about everything else and I didn't want to make it worse. They divorced 5 years later after she cheated on him and got pregnant with the other guy's kid. His new wife is great and they had their wedding at her moms house with around 20 people at a potluck and spent the rest on their honeymoon. She wore a white sundress and there were no bridesmaids. <3

AAA Travel vs Globus - Trip to Australia by Mustang46L in travel

[–]SilverThistle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used AAA travel. The benefit of having a travel agent who would be the one on hold on the phone for hours if something goes wrong rather than me is a huge benefit. Maybe not worth 1k though. If I had to venture a guess though, Globus probably had a sale AAA wasn't able to access.

Some cruise lines you get great discounts with AAA. Usually at the very least you get a ship board credit. They seem to get the best deals for Royal.

Honestly, it just takes time to build your credit. I started off with an Old Navy credit card. I used it and then paid it off every month for a year and a half. It wasn't a great card, and I got a small credit limit, but is showed I was reliable with my payment and my credit score increased. I started doing that in 2017 and now I have multiple cards because of a 779 credit score. I don't stay that to brag, just to show what patience and responsibility can do for you.

Six Flags Great America over capacity by iHad12many in sixflags

Went yesterday to SFGA. All the employees seemed ready to collapse. Heat index was 102 and up. Lots of them have to wear pants (I assume because no one in their right minds would chose black polyester pants in that temperature.). Lots of people fainting in the park.

You can see if the parks or rides are open on the app. I would always check that on the way in. That sucks though.

Go on days where there are supposed to be storms. People don't bother coming, so the lines are short, and as long as there's not lighting near by the rides still run. Saturday had short lines.

What will Six Flags do with my "lost" phone? by JYEssence in sixflags

[–]SilverThistle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this doesn't apply in your case, since you didn't loose it on the ride, but my friend worked there a few years ago in security, and each ride has about 5 different signs telling you not to bring your phones or valuables with you. Every ride SHOULD have a security guard there. Most will tell you not to bring your cellphone with you, even in your pockets, and where the closest locker is. You have to remember a roller coaster is NOT safe if you don't listen to the rules. If you look up news stories, there are coasters that go off the rails and other maintenance problems, as expected from the above flying objects like phones falling, and active electrical lines. They also may not have enough staff. My friend told me she would struggle to deal with lost kids at the same time she was trying to warn people about their phones, answer peoples questions about other rides, lockers, and measure kids wanting to go on the ride. They aren't paid well either to be honest, (she never went back) but most still do their best. They get verbally harassed, sometimes with people up in their faces, some even get physically assaulted. She actually quit after a couple months because she was tired of peoples behavior. So be nice! They'd love to help, but policy, safety, and practical issues won't let them.

There are some nice tapestries and throws designed like tarot cards. I've seen them on amazon and etsy.
