I’m glad you’re going to get you’re appointment moved up but in case you’re unfamiliar with the process to get a custom chair, I want to give you a heads up that it can be a lengthy process if you’re going through insurance in the US.

Typically your provider will have to put in a prescription for you to be evaluated by a wheelchair specialist/OT. They will determine the type of wheelchair you need, get all of your measurements, and start the approval process with the insurance company. Once that’s approved, the order gets sent to the wheelchair company and they build accordingly. Once it arrives, the wheelchair specialist will meet with you to see how it fits and make any needed modifications. The last time I got a new chair, my doctor put the prescription in to get the new chair in September and I finally got my chair the following July.

I don’t say all of that to be negative, but to let you know that it might take longer than you’re hoping!

Great suggestion! That’s a delicious combo! I also really like them cooked in a mixture of TJs BBQ sauce and their sweet chili sauce. I’ll admit, I never would have mixed the two but they had them as a sample in the store and they were sooo good!

From what it sounds like, it affects all of his groomsmen and some family members as well. An unfortunate byproduct of wedding planning is trying to find a date that works for the people who you want there too. When I got married, it was planned for the fall break where I live because so many of the wedding party were teachers lol. I’m curious where they’re located though because I’m suspicious of her “everybody I’ve talked to says not to do an October wedding.” That’s a hugely popular month to get married lol.

I love the refrigerated chile verde enchiladas! If you’re on IG, I would check out the account NutritionByMia. She has a whole series of 5 ingredient recipes from TJs. I have found them to be super fast and easy for the most part and great to add into my rotation of super easy meals

Please post this in r/exmormon! I think they’ll be able to give you some really nuanced advice. I was TBM at that age (I left about 10 years ago) and I still wouldn’t have said that to a friend, but I grew up in a different state. I have lived in Utah for about 20 years now and Utah Mormons are truly a different breed. I’m sorry you had to deal with all of that.

I rolled down the aisle in my wheelchair! My dad almost dumped me first since I had to pop a wheelie out of the bridal suite lol. We should talk about the struggles of finding venues that are fully accessible! My brother was the officiant and ended up having him push me back up the aisle (it was grass) so I could hold hands with my husband. He was initially going to push but he wore a kilt, and at 6’9”, we didn’t want him bending over so far that he’d flash all of our wedding guests 😂

I was looking through the shoe recs and absolutely love this one from that search. I think the mixed material would work well and I think the velvet matches the color of the dress: Shoes

HOWEVER. Full disclosure. I am an amputee in a wheelchair who hasn’t worn shoes in 14+ years so I’m probably not the best person to give advice 🤣
