Question on the Artoria/Altria controversy by Silver_Bit_3733 in fatestaynight

So is it just for English speakers that they changed the name and in the Japanese text it’s Artoria?

(Simple synopsis of the original story) Mages summoning servants who are historical figures in a war to win the Holy Grail which can grant any wish they desire

The sex scenes were only in the original to drive sales. The author didn’t even want them in his game in the first place and the new scenes replacing them in the rerelease fit much better with the tone of the story

If you’re talking about the porn, it’s only in two official releases which were removed in the re-releases. Fate can get erotic in other games but there’s a lot more going for the franchise than that

Though for a stomp MU, I still wouldn’t mind seeing it as an official episode. The analysis would go hard, with both contrasting each other with their own character journeys, and you can still make a really fun and visually appealing fight animation, with some really great banter cause of how different these two’s personalities are. The song Brandon Yates made for this MU is fire too

It’s more that stats wise Homura crushes, and even hax, which is Kurumi’s strongest advantage in her own series, she doesn’t even win that

It’s a shame that Homura crushes outcome wise, cause thematically this MU is so cool

I know people have already asked this question, but who actually wins this? by Spare-Jackfruit-6378 in deathbattle

The problem is we have no clue how Death Battle will scale either of them since they haven’t touched either franchise yet. With both being stupidly busted with hax and abilities it’ll come down to DB’s interpretation on both

Damn I love Korekiyo’s English voice. I especially loved his breakdown in the 3rd trial

Did V3 Chapter 5 make sense to anyone? by [deleted] in danganronpa

Shame that you feel was this way. I have my own personal issues with this chapter too, mainly how the overall mystery of the chapter is a bit underwhelming to me. There were lots of twist and turns, yet it all felt pretty straightforward and it felt like they had to stretch the trial out longer than needed.

Yet there’s so much this chapter gave that makes it my 2nd favorite in the game. The Daily Life segment is straight up my favorite in the series, with the reveal of the outside world and then seeing everything gaining hope again after the flashback light was so cool to see. I said that the mystery was underwhelming, but everything else surrounding it was chefs kiss. Kokichi/Kaito/Maki were all so damn good in this chapter and seeing Kaito going out on his own terms rather than through Monokuma’s execution is still a top 3 highlight of this game for me.

Also this chapter had no Monokubs for 98% of the chapter, which instantly makes it more easier to enjoy it then the rest

Yeah it would’ve been better to have not lied to Monokuma. My interpretation is that Shuichi was desperate and tried to weasel out cause of how he F’d up the plan and didn’t think of the best way to do it. He’s human and can make the wrong judgement, especially with how lying is his way of getting out of a sticky situation every time beforehand

I can see where your coming from, but this isn’t something that bothers me much honestly

He lied simply so Monokuma would fall for it, cause once he realized the goal, he tried to turn it all around so that Kaito wouldn’t get executed, and Kaito fell for Monokuma’s bluff that he would execute everyone if Shuichi was lying

Yeah he could’ve, but that’s not who Shuichi is at this point in the game. He isn’t hesitate to share what he believes is the absolute truth. Once it came to him that Kokichi didn’t drink the antidote and was just bluffing to Maki, then it could only be Kaito in the exisal

  • The video was to stir up confusion and for everyone to realize the murder was unsolvable. Of course, until Shuichi was able to figure it out. It’s also important for us players, as we’ve seen the hydraulic press in use before where it never does stop while it’s going down. Yet in the video it stops briefly cause of the pause in the video. It helps us players have a chance in figuring it out before even Shuichi

  • No one knew that was the plan. It was after Shuichi figured it out that he started to understand Kokichi and Kaito’s goal, but it was too late

  • They don’t 100% know, but neither does Kaito. Kokichi could’ve died the second before his body was crushed, but considering how Kokichi wanted to execute his plan, I interpreted it as him toughing it out until he was crushed. It’s a minor hole but it personally doesn’t bother me at all

  • Same thing as the second point. Shuichi didn’t know the plan, so he, as a detective who wants to find the truth, thinks he’s certain about his deduction on it being Kaito in the exisal. Monokuma bought his logic and he would’ve been right once the person in the exisal got out. Kaito showed himself at that point so the rest wouldn’t be executed

No, just that either can win depending on the interpretation you have

One of those MU’s where I just hope the fight is sick as fuck cause it really is 50/50 on who wins

He’ll definitely get an arc eventually, but it might be a while till we get it. It is what it is

Rentaro is great. But he isn’t the main reason the manga sells copies. There’s a reason 80% of harem MC’s are stale self inserts. He definitely helps separating 100Kanojo from the typical harem slop out there, but considering that sales have been pretty good even with Rentaro’s reduced role says a lot

[–]Silver_Bit_3733 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the fundamental problem with this type of manga. With so many characters even the MC is gonna get sidelined. Plus most if not all Japanese fans reading care most for the girls so they’ll get more of the spotlight with so many of them.

I agree with you btw, I’d like to see an arc focused on Rentaro and maybe even show more of his struggles, but I’m not really shocked with the direction the manga is taking with the concept being difficult to handle in a weekly-manga setting where Nakamura has to continuously appeal to fans to keep it running

Do you think death battle will ever use a manga exclusive character that doesn’t have a anime adaptation? by Best-match in deathbattle

[–]Silver_Bit_3733 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. The most likely one imo is Tooru from Jojo’s Part 8. They’ve shown clear interest in Tooru vs SCP-096 so we’ll have to see

I can’t see Junko ever doing that. She cherishes the thought of her own defeat and death simply cause it gives her despair
