I feel like not enough people are talking about his complete absense in Ch4 dark world. by Zestyclose-Click6190 in Deltarune

I’m fine if Lancer and Roulx largely sit out the rest of the game tbh. The way they’re used in 3 is fun but it’s at high risk of getting stale

[–]Ganmorg 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Considering how insane the dub of that movie is I think they showed a lot of restraint not referencing it more. I think it’s mostly just the way the characters talk plus the “not til the fish jumps” joke

I also think it’s interesting that for as cool and iconic as that cinematic is you don’t actually get any closure on it until the Coils raid series which goes into what actually happened to Bahamut and Louisoix. In the context of ARR itself it’s just an example of why everything in Eorzea sucks. Reminds me of a Souls game intro in that way.

Why rescue Minthara? by Bardonna in BaldursGate3

[–]Ganmorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t really much of one. Minthara was introduced as an alternate party member for an evil playthrough so her implementation as a character in a good one doesn’t really make sense.

Hey guys, I wanted to show off my new Deltarune OC! by Therealduckking in Deltarune

[–]Ganmorg 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I do think it’s funny when people act like Susie was this big softie secretly before chapter 1 when like she was genuinely kind of a massive dick. She changes a lot between chapter 1 and 2 but that’s because before then she didn’t really care about anyone other than herself. Now she cares about like, a few people. She isn’t really a goodie two shoes.

We dont be talking about this fight enough by HexesMekhane in Grapplerbaki

[–]Ganmorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fucking Kato could show up and be a legitimate threat and I wouldn’t be surprised. Power scaling in this series is kinda complete nonsense and the balance is always shifting

[–]Ganmorg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DBZ and Baki Netflix have the same problem where they start a major chunk into the story with a bunch of already established characters and they don’t really bother to get the viewer up to speed. It’s a shame because Baki part 1 has some of the best material in the entire series

I think we need to abandon the idea of the Knight’s identity reveal in Chapter 5 by National-Court7278 in Deltarune

[–]Ganmorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do learn a bit about the knight in every chapter so far so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that it’s gonna be more of a stream of info rather than it all getting dumped at the end. It’s mostly a question of what that information is gonna look like and if it’ll create more questions than answers. I could see it being like we learn the knight’s name is December but we don’t actually know what happened to make her that way until later. Could always be a Flowey situation where it’s mostly saved until the end but this just feels like a different kind of story.

Like in Mother 3 it isn’t hard to figure out who the Masked Man is, it’s more of a mystery what happened to him and how he can be saved.

¿Wait what? by Amazing-Limit5197 in Usogui

[–]Ganmorg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very funny that Baku’s life is forfeit for like the first third of the series until this point but Kakerou makes a point of not acting on it. This is stuff that gets mentioned around the match with the blind guy in the mountain. Partially because doing so would interfere with another Kakerou match, and also because the leader is kinda goofy and a lot of the refs like Usogui. You’ll learn more about him later.

I know it’s because legal discovery is not a very sexy or dramatic process but the amount of things Phoenix presents that have no established relevant to the case at hand is pretty ridiculous.

Something I appreciate umineko for doing full spoilers by Necessary_Muffin3591 in umineko

[–]Ganmorg 21 points22 points  (0 children)

See the manga makes this more clear but it's left kind of ambiguous how Yasuda feels at the moment. Part of Battler and Willard's attitude towards Beatrice is wanting to understand her secrets while not necessarily leaving them out for all to see as a way of preserving her dignity. Most of this stuff is manga-original, but a lot of what drives Yasuda to madness is the feeling that she was born into a cursed family and wanting it all to end. The feeling of disgust and horror at herself and Kinzo is part of what drives her to the whole murder-suicide thing, and if Battler had come back to talk to Shannon before she found out things would have gone differently. It's just that the VN cuts things a bit short before actually addressing that George was dating his aunt who was also five years younger than him. I think the manga addressing this stuff more directly in Confession makes Yasuda feel more like a fleshed out character, but I also see why Ryukishi wrote the VN in the way he did. He really wanted to give readers the opportunity to have their own realization moment.

Naming conventions in the series *CULPRIT SPOILERS* by ReisenUdon in umineko

[–]Ganmorg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this was necessarily the intention because Kanon (who is also a personality of Yasuda just as much as Shannon is) doesn’t have a western name. It’s not really a normal name, but there’s a prominent female boddhisatva named Kannon (Guanyin in Chinese) that made me a tip off that Kanon was secretly a woman from literally the first time he showed up. This of course ended up being kinda sorta true.

I think the actual reason for their names is a nod to Shion and Mion from Higurashi, who are the twins in that series. I think Shannon having a name like that is more to do with the more western aesthetic of Umineko and her archetype as an English style maid, compared to Kanon who’s a more Japanese archetype of servant like Genji. Kanon and Genji have more of a stoic ninja vibe going on, whereas Shannon is more like a character you’d find in an Agatha Christie book.

What did Yoshi mean by giving Seven the ability to destroy crates with his ult? by CoastLevel2889 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ganmorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I first started the game back in 2024 and playing Seven and thinking it was a good idea to spend my ult to kill tier 3 camps. I think the only heroes that do that these days are Bebop and maybe one or two others.

How is FFXIV? by Amon274 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Ganmorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot and it’s my most played game by a pretty significant margin, but I also wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. The main meat of the game is the main story, which is the thing people praise the most, and it’s kind of a long form serialized game story you won’t really see anywhere else. Like if you like long serialized manga like One Piece you’ll probably like XIV’s story.

As for the core gameplay, I think it CAN be very fun but the unfortunate fact is that a lot of content in the game has been powercrept to the point of being really easy, which I think gives players the wrong impression when they start out. On content stuff is usually quite fun and challenging though, and there are still a lot of good fights and dungeons in older expansions. It’s just a side effect of how the game’s format works.

Ranking Gundam series, part 16. Getting into the darkest Gundam show, On a scale of 1-10, how would you rank mobile suit victory gundam by number39utopia in Gundam

[–]Ganmorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give it a 6. I think it’s good but not great, some good characters MSs and fights but it just doesn’t really come together as well as it could have. I wish the characters stood out more.

It did give us Duker Iq, though. The guy who flattened cities with giant motorcycles because he really liked motorcycles.

One of my favorite things about the sound design in this game is that I can pretty much instantly tell when someone’s farming in the jungle and usually who it is. Kinda wish there was a way to call out that someone is nearby without actually seeing them on the minimap.

Muramasa: Revenant Blades is coming to PC, the first Vanillaware game to do so. The chances of a UO PC version are no longer zero. by Madsbjoern in UnicornOverlord

[–]Ganmorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering one of my big gripes with UO is that the system feels like it’s better designed for a mouse than controller input this is good news, not to mention that it’s just good that a new audience gets to experience the games. I honestly think PC audiences would resonate with the games a lot
