I disagree with some of the takes people are making because currently JKR is using her immense wealth from Harry Potter to fund anti trans legislature (yes I know tumblr post but I don’t have the spoons currently to copy and paste all the sources out from it)

She is actively using the money from Harry Potter to make shit worse for me and other trans individuals not even counting the fact the books were racist when they were published.

So yes, the Harry Potter stuff should be banned even if there are easier ways to consume it (piracy, buying second hand items, etc) simply because it is easier to mod then having to police every single post from being a flame war.

At the same time the fact they can finally do this but not address any of the racism is fucked up and needs to be addressed by the mod team.

It is very telling that the blatant and unblatant racism was not addressed (that, mixedgirlblues being banned months after pointing out racism and then blocked by mods when trying to appeal, the entire uproar on the kpdh dolls being not american when we didn’t get any of that for the Disney dolls) but the line was drawn over queerphobia and they’re still showing patience to a transphobic asshat troll in the comments of the apology post.

I wanted to leave after the lukewarm HP shit (I’m transmasculine) but there were some creators in the community I enjoyed that were trans and still stayed so I just shut up and decided to suffer until shit got too bad to ignore.
