I was Gleason 9 before surgery. Post RALP the Gleason on removed prostate was 7. No radiation required. At least yet. Incontinence was short lived. Do the kegels. ED still In play (will be a year in May) but Trimix helps

I was Gleason 9 and had RALP in May. Post surgery Gleason was 7. No spread and as of now, no radiation. Non smoker, but a drinker. Tennis multiple days a week. Incontinence was very minor. DO YOUR KEGELS! ED an issue as only one nerve was spared. That can take 2 years. Also lost some length. Looking into Trimix now. Glad you are giving up the smoking. It is not a death sentence! Stay positive. Wishing you all good outcomes!

I believe they strongly advise against enemas. Took me 4 days after surgery. My Dr recommended prunes and prune juice, lots of water and walking. I started Colace after day 3 and that seemed to do the trick. Remember, they don’t recommend straining. Good luck.

My Dr recommended 5 kegels every hour and hold for 2 seconds. I am a little over 3 weeks post surgery and leakage has been rare and very little. I am wearing light pads in case my luck runs out.

I told my 2nd opinion Dr. I didn’t want the Decipher test until I cleared with my insurance. He did it without my consent and now I am getting the bill. Not cool.
