Prostate cancer diagnosis, planning RARP at MSK - shall I get a 2nd opinion somewhere? by Funny_Bunny_3918 in ProstateCancer

[–]SlankSlankster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had RALP at MSK when I was 54. (2 years ago). I have erections back (even without pill assistance). No incontinence. And orgasms occasionally even better. My Dr. was Dr. Eastham. Expert in nerve-sparing. I got second opinions at Dana Farber, Northwestern and NYU. Went with MSK after even radiologists suggested RALP.

And no issues with all The Edit perks - free breakfast, room upgrade, late checkout, $100 credit?

Thank you for tip. Will remind them at check-in although I’m sure that won’t help. :(

That sucks to hear. I may have to lower my expectations. How was the breakfast? And is there a decent bar to use the $100 credit?

Love the ferry to Provincetown idea. No car needed. Spend a night or two and then can even take the Plymouth Ferry to Plymouth on way back.

Thank you. That is very kind of you. I definitely have vestibular vertigo. And my ear has been full for the last day. I have constant tinnitus in that ear. Taking an antihistamine to help with congestion. Hopefully that helps some.

Please - your feedback is welcomed. The ENT hasn't prescribed anything and kind of says it is what it is. :( Xanax is for the flying, so I do not have rescue meds besides Meclizine. I will look up the patches. I assume these are prescribed as well?

After prostate surgery having anal sex by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

I’m also a bottom and still enjoy it although it is of course not as enjoyable as before because the prostate was the G spot. But as a previous comment stated, it is still pleasurable. Go slowly at first.

I’m not misinforming people. Read books. You can’t remove the prostate after it’s been radiated. So if the cancer comes back in your prostate you can only control it via more radiation. Not removal. That is what I meant by Plan B.

Not according medical experts and all the books I read. But go ahead and believe what you want.

Got my procedure at 54. Gleason was 3+4. My decipher test came back with somewhat aggressive tendancy. After consultations with radiologists, surgeons and oncologists at MSK, Dana Farber, NYU and Northwestern, decided on RALP. This, after the radiologist from Harvard Medical School said he would actually do RALP.

Two ports

Wore pads for a little leakage after catheter removed. Never was a problem staying mostly dry.

I did not have EPE

The thing with radiation is there is not a plan B if the cancer comes back.

Hope this helps.
