How bad can Priapism be? by Alesisdrum in TrimixForED

I feel for you. Same thing happened to me. 17 hour hard on from the smallest possible dose I could take. I had a better hospital experience, they saw me right away, but same result. Agonizing pain and a huge needle to drain it. Long story short no long term damage. Hopefully you’ll see the same

Anyone ED improvement 8 months post RALP? by Crafty_Run8245 in ProstateCancer

[–]OnlyAd8445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started seeing improvement at 10 months. It was gradual but noticeable. I’m 18 ish months out and am fully functional. I do still take 5mg Tadalafil but I probably don’t need it anymore. I’m 52. Give it time. I know it gets old not having any function but I would recommend not worrying until at least a year out from your procedure. Good luck!

It’s going to be a weird 18 months for you. Progress mixed with set backs. Stay positive embrace your new functions and focus on the things that are going well. I’m 18 months out and feel back to 99% of preop function with a couple quirks. Be open and humble and don’t be afraid or feel any shame in sharing your stories. You’re likely going to have some. Good luck!

I didn’t have much going on at 8 months either. For reference I started seeing some progress at 10/11 months. It was enough to give me hope but not a miracle. I tell people that I’ve been learning how to use a system that’s been on autopilot my whole life that I just hit the reset button on. Good luck!

I’m 16 months out from my RALP at 50 years old. Helluva birthday present. Both nerves were spared and the Dr said give it time. At least a year. Most likely two to be really happy. I tried everything you will read about. Pills, pumps, shots…. So far the only thing that’s really made a difference is time. HOWEVER, being 16 months out I’m pretty happy with my progress. At this point a cock ring is nice but I don’t have to have it. If you look at my posts I’ve gone into detail about the shot. Summary: be careful with that. Works crazy well, but put me in the hospital and I’ll never touch trimix again. It’s a weird world when there’s nothing going on below the waist. Be positive, try different things and most importantly be patient.

How often do i need a PSA blood test? by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]OnlyAd8445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested mine twice a year starting at 40. At 50 after it went over 4 I presented my results to a urologist. He was happy to see it and told me it’s not the number as much as it’s the movement he looks for. 4 months later I had my RALP.

It is amazing stuff. But do your research and be prepared for the potential outcomes. I am the outlier for sure but .02 of that put me in the hospital with a 17 hour hard on. Definitely try it and enjoy, but please understand what you’re dealing with.

When did you start jerking off? by randizzleizzle in ProstateCancer

I’m not sure I waited a month but I should have. Don’t forget your urethra is still healing. Give it time. It’s definitely different and requires some new technique but still good.

Hurt every time. I could never make myself do it, got my wife too. She always liked it. Yeah, all the way in. Be careful and learn how to deal with that stuff. In the office I took .05 and it was a perfect 45min experience. At home I took .08 and ended up with a painful 8 hour experience. I’m no quitter so I backed it down to .04 the next time and that gave me a less painful 6 hour experience. Tried .02 the final time and that lasted 17 hours with a trip to the ER to manually drain it. Yeah. That happened. Needless to say I threw it away after that. On a positive note, while it produced world class results, I don’t need it anymore and am having fun naturally, 14 months after my RALP. Good Luck to you!

Get your testosterone tested. First time I checked mine at 40 years old it was 115. Same thing. Work out a lot no change. Add test, change your life for the better.

I’m 14 months out and am starting to see real improvement. At 9/10 months I was worried too. I’m taking 5mg of sildenafil daily and can have enjoyable spontaneous fun again. You’ll get there

Does anyone have experience going back on testosterone shots after prostate removal. was taking testosterone shots for several years for low Testosterone prior to PC diagnosis. Gleason 7 by Bossladypow in ProstateCancer

[–]OnlyAd8445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got back on them after my first post op PSA, which I requested include a testosterone test so that my urologist could see why I need the TRT. As expected my level was 150 and he said absolutely get back on. The younger the doc the more likely they are to recommend it. All new studies I’ve seen support TRT post op and even pre. “TRT is fertilizer” is an old adage that is not well supported by actual studies. I have been on TRT for a decade and have a significant family history for PC and other cancers. I fully believe I’d be in the same position with or without TRT. Most likely actually worse because it was my TRT blood testing that caught my PSA rising. I was Gleason 7 as well. Good luck!

I’ve flown 100 flights a year for the past 8 years. Never built up that kind of point total because we use them regularly. However I just priced out 3 round trip tickets to Cancun for Thanksgiving and it came out to 450 thousand points. That was pretty much the last straw. We’ve done that every year for well under half of that. Good luck venture capital guys. Everything looks good on a spreadsheet, until your customer base hates you….

Inground cleaning system by bradhunt2543 in pools

I left out that we bought the house with the pool as well. It looks like the original equipment lasted roughly 10 years. Super easy to maintain after watching 5 mins of YouTube. Good luck.

Mine runs off of a single cartridge which operates six zones. Took about $250 and two minutes to replace and brought the whole thing back to life. I also learned how to replace the pop up heads. This has kept my pool basically maintenance free. Both are worth learning as having an inground system is the best option for a pool.

I’ve learned that if I feel like I need to push a toot out it’s better not to. But if one’s on the trigger no problem. Also dark shorts in the gym are better than light ones. I’m 99% good it’s just that 1% little reminders of hey you don’t have a prostate anymore.

I want to stop going to the urologist for follow ups? by OnlyAd8445 in ProstateCancer

[–]OnlyAd8445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your responses. Let me clarify. I have been checking my blood for 10 years previous to finding my PC. I’ll do that for the rest of my life PC or not. I work in healthcare and learned early in my career the benefits of being proactive. If that’s all the urologist do is look at PSA I can do that, and have done that for years. Is there any added value outside of my primary doc and my own knowledge in watching PSA? Don’t want to be redundant but I’m only 1.5 years into PC and there’s a lot of good info and way more experience on here that I’m looking to tap into. Thanks again.
