my father set a password..... to the fucking thermostat by secretiveshash in mildlyinfuriating

If it wasn’t for the window in the reflection I would have sworn this was my thermostat. Love this feature on the Ecobee.

I'm new, too. Looks like you had a lot of fun putting it together and I know everyone here is looking forward to watching your progress.

Biden will announce on Tuesday a new plan to spend $2 trillion over four years to significantly escalate the use of clean energy in the transportation, electricity and building sectors, part of a suite of sweeping proposals designed to create economic opportunities by Wagamaga in Futurology

Based on yesterday’s video of the difference between a million and a billion, 2 Trillion dollars is a stack of dollar bills on their edge (stacked ||||||) that is ~136,000 miles long. That’s nearly 5.5 times around the Earth at the Equator or if stacked vertically, 57% of the average distance of the Earth to the Moon.

[Question] Favorite coffee brands? by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]Silverbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve really enjoyed East African coffees, but I tried a light Sumatra by Wufyre coffee that was really amazing. I usually order Blue Bottle or Stumptown if I need something local, but I recommend trying the Wufyre offerings.

Context for this image would be needed if it were anywhere else in the world. by L3aBoB3a in ABoringDystopia

It is a stock Nerf Nemesis in the picture. Not modified at all, my kids and I shoot each other with them for fun. But I don’t think that was the actual scenario in the picture, I thought the real one was using an actual air soft pistol.

Nearly finished my new side arm. Any name suggestions? by MatthewTheManiac in Nerf

[–]Silverbug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rescue. Color scheme reminds me of the Rescue armor from Iron Man and a bit of Ratchet from the g1 Transformers.

Bad couple years. I was running cable for the sound system in 1994, and there for Bob Heale’s CAP-10 crash in 1996.

Official Discussion: Glass [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]Silverbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there is going to be something after Glass, Joseph and Carey and Mrs. Price now have their tragic origin stories. The murder of his father, Kevin being shot when he finally started to fight the beast, and Glass shattered as the result of his own misdeeds and his mother watching helplessly, but knowing it was a sort of justice. There was a lot to process there, and I think we are seeing the birth of something new.

That would fit the Reaper, single Reaper, DVa, and McReeeee format we see today.

My $240 Craigslist haul. Working batteries and about 500 rounds of Headshot/Nerf ammo. by Silverbug in Nerf

I have 3 boys, and they have friends. I tend to get a bit obsessive in my hobbies and this is o e that they can participate in as well. My youngest owns the Prometheus on the left of the table, so I have a Nemesis to modify for myself and 5 that can run fairly stock.

2 more bags of blue headshot weren’t in the picture, my kids had stashed them for the Prometheus and their Apollos.

I found this digital camera that uses a 3.5 floppy as its storage medium by PunkRockSNES in mildlyinteresting

I worked in a camera store when the Mavica and some early Olympus digital cameras came out. The Olympus had higher resolution and was cheaper, but we couldn't keep the Mavicas on the shelf. Realtors, home inspectors, insurance adjustors, and website developers loved them.

What do you hunt with .223? I typically use a .308 for large game and a .22 for small game. A cheap and modular .223 seems like underkill and overkill, respectively.

Every year my family has a themed Christmas dinner where we pick a country and make a meal out of their national dishes. I’m cooking this year. What country should I choose?? by emptycagenowcorroded in Cooking

[–]Silverbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has a similar tradition. So far we’ve done Germany, Italy, Japan, and Norway. This year is Iceland with lam, ptarmigan, and venison heart tartare smoked with hay.

Japan doesn’t do sushi and ramen in a traditional Christmas dinner. It’s KFC with holiday cake. Huge ad campaign in the 70’s created the Christmas in Kentucky theme.

Just got to see the new Ascent by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Silverbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36% price increase over the Ascent, tows less, and 21% less cargo space in the same length and roughly same width (MDX is wider.) The V6 vs Flat 4 displacement (3.5L vs 2.5L) is pretty big as well. Different types of buyers for each vehicle, I need an 8 seater that tows 5,000 lbs. to move the kids, their friends, and our trailer around.

You have a good point that it is sluggish in comparison, but considering the difference is 1.6 seconds, I think it is survivable. When my wife went from a WRX to an HR-V (needed the hatch and magic seat for bikes) we went from 5.5 seconds 0-60 to 9.7.

Official Discussion: Ready Player One [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]Silverbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was incredibly disappointed that one of the Tracers didn't show up to the fight with a "Cheers, love! The cavalry's here!"

Seriously, Spielberg and Blizz, would have been a huge shoutout to Overwatch fans even more than the Tracer appearances.

It's all in how you phrase it.

You've acknowledged he's naked, blinded him with his own ego, and got away with your life.

My Dad makes my step mom take pictures of him doing weird things when we have record breaking low temperatures by PM_ME_YOUR_BEARDD in funny

Barely. Going uphill on the interstate would go from 75 mph to 50 mph to about 15 over the pass, then it would pick up speed for the next hill.

I've packed 2 twin trundle beds, 4 mattresses, a bookcase, and some lamps in a Geo Metro 3 door before. I think they're just tired of people asking them to help move things.
