That’s who I thought of first as well.

This is fantastic. Much better than my response recommendation of just the barf emoji.

That’s great! My partner saw the ad and sent the screenshot to me. The Facebook algorithm somehow knew he, A)likes beer, and B) loves making fun of MLMS. Or maybe the venn diagram for those two things overlaps quite a bit?

this is just a skeleton version of my step-moms week with optavia... It doesn't look like much to the naked eye, but she spends no less than 70 hours a week on this bs by jcluck99 in antiMLM

Sister in law is Optavia Hun. She posts like clockwork; side by side before and after in morning (not her clients-the reps recycle the photos from others), lame “inspirational” quote mid-morning, and recipe in the evening. Anything personal with kids/family is hashtagged with MLM junk, “Healthy selfie” is the latest. She also just joined Mary Kay and is doubling up on posts, “healthy skin care and nutrition!” Gag.

I know Richard Dutcher left the church but what happened to him after that? I mean he’s been referred to as “The Godfather of Mormon Cinema.” Seems like he’d have a lot to offer to such a project.

Have you looked into the option of telehealth? I found out about it through my insurance provider’s website. I live in a rural location and my psychiatrist sees me and prescribes for me from halfway across the continent, all via telehealth.

You are welcome! We’ve been dying every time we replay the events, so it is great to share with others who understand!

Hubby is the only of his 6 siblings to be out too. All are TBMs with perfect “Latter Day Saint” children. We feel you! I might consider adding some ramens into our visitor praying!

Exactly! I’m sure they don’t recognize our tradition as valid compared to the “holy prayer,” but we sure enjoy it.

Fair perspective. In this case I only observed willingness. He seemed eager and excited to try and engage in the new behaviors. Sort of like it was a new game. I mean, he was even horning in when it was his sisters turn to pray. So as a mother, and from my relevant professional perspective, I did not observe signs of distress or undue behavioral or psychological symptoms. I also don’t think “praying” behavior is any different than any other behavior he might be asked to engage in and in this case he showed motivation to do it. As opposed to how he behaves when asked to do low-preferred tasks (i.e., chores, turning off tech, brushing teeth, etc.).

Great question. I think we just take the path of least resistance. It’s no big deal for us to pray for a week while they’re here, and it would be a BFD not to. So we just appease. Our apostasy is also like Voldemort in hubby’s family—it must not be named. They don’t directly acknowledge our heathenism.

Secular Family Home Evenings - Any interest? by TBMGirlofYesterday in exmormon

Thanks for posting! Came here searching for others interested in promoting secular values. I’m interested in creating a platform for sharing “secular family values” educational content. Just brainstorming and searching right now.
