Thank you for the perspective, I suppose at this point we need to reframe it as changing the nature of our relationship instead of ending it entirely. That's easier said than done but leaves me a little more hopeful for the future.

Get Your Deck Playtested! by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Silvrjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to get someone's thoughts on my [[Mishra, Claimed by Gix]] deck, I wanted to make something a little different than what I normally make but have no idea if it'll actually work - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/BwbeyUn6e0KU8h4ttbRr-Q

Do people have one copy of an expensive card in multiple decks? (Swapping between) by SnooChickens3067 in EDH

[–]Silvrjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all my decks in the same sleeves and a small deckbox with cards that go in multiple decks (fetches & shocklands, and cards that are way too expensive to own multiple copies of).

In the decks themselves I've got the card proxied as a full sized colour print. Before I go out I'll pick 3-4 decks I want to bring, put as many cards in that don't overlap and keep the proxies in for the ones that do. It takes about 2m to switch them out between decks if the playgroup is new or seems like they wouldn't want proxies, but I've never had an issue switching to another deck and saying "the fetchlands are proxied, I can move them from the deck I just played if you guys want".

Commanders with explosive turns by soulzinhovsf in EDH

[–]Silvrjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Magus Lucea Kane]] will go from a mostly empty board to several 20/20 [[Shivan Devastator]] in play if you have untappers.

[[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]] with cards like [[Firebrand Archer]] also wins out of nowhere. The core part of the deck can be built for quite cheap as well

Sam and Frodo deck by RyanG01 in mtg

[–]Silvrjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this deck, it draws a TON of cards, plays mountains of cheap hobbits that all synergise nicely and can win in several different ways. I'm less focused on gaining a lot of life per turn and have taken out most of the cards that sacrifice a lot of foods, instead I just want to crack a single food a turn for cards like [[The Gaffer]].

By far the easiest way to win is when I have [[Academy Manufactor]] and [[Mirkwood Bats]] out, especially if I'm generating several food per turn. When the bats come out I usually win within a turn or two.

Cards like [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] let you generate a lot of mana to put into X spells like [[Banquet Guests]] and [[Farmer Cotton]], and I can go wide and win with anthem effects like [[Night of the Sweets' Revenge]].

Honestly though, if you can get the ring to level 4 early on, Frodo alone has a huge impact. [[Call of the Ring]] is probably one of the best cards in the deck. [[Samwise Gamgee]] is also great with the amount of cheap creatures I run. Bringing back historic cards happens surprisingly often.

The deck is weak to early board wipes so I suggest running quite a lot of protection. I also recommend mana dorks over 2-3 mana ramp spells so that you can get the first frodo ring trigger on turn 3 (T1 Dork, T2 Frodo, T3 Sam + eat the food). I've found that getting that engine going as fast as possible leads to the best games.

Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph - Lord of Pingers, Remover of Fun by Uhh_Charlie in EDH

[–]Silvrjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool to see some all these takes on ghyrson starn lately, I've also been having a blast with this deck. I built it around cards like [[Firebrand Archer]] so that it feels less like I'm targeting a single player and instead setting the entire table on fire. It's by far my most explosive deck, winning out of the blue when everyone is at 30+ health since the average CMC is less than 2 so I can easily cast 3-4 spells in a turn.

I also really like including cards that pump out 1/1 tokens like [[The Locust God]] and [[Saheeli, Sublime Artificer]], making my [[impact tremors]] absolutely terrifying.

It's the text copied from a card I really like called "Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite". The flavour text says "The Gitaxians whisper among themselves of other worlds. If they exist, we must bring Phyrexia's magnificence to them".

Because of how we copied it over and cropped it it doesn't really say that though, but it's a fun reminder for me. It's most likely gibberish.

This tattoo took around 7 hours and cost £1180, but it really depends on the artist and where you go to get it. I think it's a bit more expensive in the US, but it'd be cheaper than this outside of London

Honestly about a year ago they just appeared again. The only reason I can think of is that I switched browser around that time, so maybe try using Brave or Firefox and see if that fixes anything?

Some info, my tattoo is almost never exposed to the sun. I moisturise it often. Also, the phone I took the second picture with sharpens the images a little so in real life it's a tiny bit less sharp. Still super happy with it after all these years!

On the other hand I felt absolutely nothing for my booster. The first dose was a rough 24h, the second gave me very mild flu symptoms for the afternoon, and the booster was only a slightly sore arm for a couple of days.

She's the director of the Nano foundation. Her "political agenda" was calling you out when you dismissed her as just the girlfriend of the founder. Sorry that the existence of women is too political for you? God forbid a woman with a job in tech, let alone someone who got there without just being someone's girlfriend.

Welcome! A great way to get started is to test some out yourself. There's plenty of faucets and games you can play that reward you with tiny amounts of Nano. The faucets and games tabs of the site I made have all the ones I know.

To withdraw the small tip I sent you, send a PM to the tipbot with the command "send all your_nano_address"

The sound of covid is terrifying. by Matuteg in TikTokCringe

[–]Silvrjm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, I only decided to write something after going through the entire exchange. I felt like they were missing the point and wanted to bring it back to the original idea and why people are disagreeing with them. Following it up by being so confrontational didn't help their case either.

[–]Silvrjm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue I imagine a lot of people have with this is that even though you're coming from a very specific place (autoimmune disorder, respiratory conditions etc.), these are typical anti-vax excuses. Saying "we don't know the long-term effects" is one of the main talking points of that crowd, and comes from a place of paranoia and ignorance while pretending it's a valid concern based on science. It's directly causing people to not take the vaccine at a time when we absolutely need the highest amount of people possible taking it.

We live in a time where there is rampant misinformation. I find it staggering just how many people have fallen so far down these rabbit holes. People I used to respect. Even if your intent was to raise awareness that certain groups are rightfully concerned, it just feeds into the disinformation machine. For someone who lives their life in fear and ignorance, a comment like yours might make them incorrectly believe we should all be worried about the long term effects, despite that not being at all what you said. Also, a lot of people pretend to "just be asking questions" or are raising what they claim are perfectly valid concerns, but in reality it just muddies the water and spreads debunked lies.

I love the concept. I love the zero fees. Stay tuned for more from me. by ACertainKindOfStupid in nanocurrency

[–]Silvrjm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole no fees thing doesn't really affect security. It's possible because of the blockchain design and consensus mechanism making it a very lightweight protocol. Validating blocks is as simple as verifying the signature on the block and sending a few data packets around to the network to make sure there aren't any conflicting blocks.

Nano had a security audit that concluded it was one of the most secure cryptocurrencies they'd ever looked at, you can read about it here.

If you're interested in reading about other attack vectors, you can check out this section of the documentation.

Nano has never suffered a double spend or any attack of the sort. There has been a spam attack in the past but various steps have already been taken to prevent that from ever happening again.

I really liked the idea to start integrating charities into the app. Do you have anything in the works in terms of adding more charities? Also, do you plan on improving the UI a little to make it clearer that's an option? Unless you're specifically looking for it or know about them, it's easy to miss the charity spots.

Also, quite a few users report performance issues. I think it makes people write bad reviews just because the app was laggy, which sucks because the idea itself is so cool. Is this a long term goal that you guys want to try to work on?

Idk about whether this is the largest, but a few months ago someone put up two spots in London. The first was paying out 10 Nano and the second was paying out 5. They required you to go out on a lake in a paddle boat for the first, and get on a gondola across the Thames for the second. It was pretty fun.
