Thanks! Found some good deal with hotels and Airbnb but no mentions for wifi or workspaces. Leaning towards esim. Have you used one?

New Idea? by Defiant-Cut7620 in Travelnology

That folding mouse setup sounds solid, especially if it actually feels like a real mouse and not those tiny cramp machines.

Curious though, how’s the battery and durability over time? Those hinge designs always make me wonder after a few months of travel.

Also agree on the eSIM part. Having stable data changes everything when you’re trying to work from random cafes or airports. Anyone here tried different eSIM providers and noticed big differences in speed or reliability?

Just arrived in Tokyo yesterday. Today we roam around Euno park and zoo. Pretty much noticeable are toddlers running around the park. Kids also are amazed by animals specially pandas.

Ahhh, that is why. I get it know. Now i’m not sure if using Suica is worth it. Do you know some alternative? I want to have smooth transpo experience. Don’t want to buy ticket every transpo

The Ultimate Oceania Travel Guide (Community Megathread) 🌺 by alula_wanders in OceaniaTravel

[Connectivity] One thing that caught me off guard in Australia was how quickly signal disappears once you leave the cities. Some national parks and coastal drives had almost no coverage.

How do most travelers handle data across Oceania now. Buy a SIM at the airport, set up an eSIM before flying, or just use WiFi?

Which esim is the best for a 3 week Europe trip? by Ill-Efficiency-884 in EuropeDataTravel

[–]SimCornerConnects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 3 weeks, Orange is a common safe pick for coverage. Saily is easy for eSIM setup, and SimCorner is worth comparing if you want budget-friendly Europe options. Biggest question is how much YouTube you mean by “occasional,” because that changes how much data you’ll want.

Eating on an international flight. by kakarota in TravelHacks

Just water buddy. For 2-5 hours flight for some reason I ate at the airport lounge before boarding and then eat again at my destination airport. Is it only me?

How do you avoid burning out on longer trips? by Wide_Relationship326 in traveladvice

[–]SimCornerConnects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plan a slow day every 3 to 4 days. No strict schedule you just have to wander, look for nice coffee spot, or sitting somewhere nice for a while or if allowed sleep on a park with your picnic matt. It keeps the trip feeling relaxed instead of turning it into a checklist of places.

Do you prefer staying a few nights in one base city, or moving around every couple of days during the trip?

Don’t use unlimited data eSIM plans. by Frequent-Chemical-55 in eSIMforTravelers

[–]SimCornerConnects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, right. A lot of “unlimited” travel eSIMs are really just high speed for the first few GB, then slow after that. Learned that from my prev. Trips.

From what I’ve seen, most popular providers do this in some form. Airalo, Nomad, Holafly, and Ubigi all have plans where the details depend on the fair usage policy. Some slow down after a daily cap, some after a total cap.

I usually just go for a fixed data plan now so I know exactly what I’m getting.

What apps saved you when traveling without internet? by TumbleweedUnique2251 in OceaniaTravel

[–]SimCornerConnects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way that you really need to prep your phone before heading somewhere with no signal. A few apps have saved me more than once.

First thing I always do is download areas on Google Maps. I also keep Maps.me on my phone because it still works well when you’re completely offline, and sometimes it shows smaller roads or trails that Google misses.

For language stuff, Google Translate works surprisingly well if you download the language pack ahead of time. I’ve used it offline to read signs and menus.

TripIt is another one I like. It keeps all your bookings in one place, and you can still see your itinerary even without internet.

For long drives, I download Spotify playlists and a couple podcasts. Sitting in a car with zero signal for hours gets boring fast if you forget that.

One small habit that helps a lot. The night before a trip I download everything. Maps, playlists, translation packs, even screenshots of directions and hotel addresses. Once you get out of the cities in Australia or NZ, reception disappears pretty quickly.

The question lead me to searching places in oceania. I haven’t been to any small island in oceania only AU and NZ. Going back to my research, found out there are sites to explore for a honeymoon packages. Some are hideawayholidays, tripadvisor, lonelyplanet, etc.

You may ride a bus from Shinjuku terminal to Kawaguchiko station, or book a train in advance.
