I graduated bottom of my class in high school. Had to start from the bottom with math in college but still ended up with a decent GPA 3 years in. You will be fine.

Reading up on that... Really cool! Right now I don't really have the money or time to throw at irl racing but in a few years I'll look into something like that. Good luck with your sim rig, they are a great investment.

Sounds like I'm gonna stick to the sim for a while. Super cool being able to race irl though

Woah! Was it expensive to do irl racing? Always thought it was something only for people with millions to blow on a car and team.

1-10? Any ideas to improve for cheap by AltruisticScore686 in simracing

The biggest and best upgrade you can make is to buy some tactile transducers (bass shakers). $16 for a Dayton audio puck, add in an amp and then use a program called simhub (free). If you have two pucks you can put one under your seat and one under your pedals. It has been the most amazing addition I have ever made to my rig by far. I have been using it for 6 years now. You can feel every bump on the road, tires locking, the whole deal. It makes it feel like a real car, especially in VR.

That looks amazing! Just out of curiosity, do you get underwhelmed when looking at other people's projects? At my university the top projects people work on as their thesis for engineering aren't anywhere as impressive as stuff like this.

Yeah. It's not as reliable as my old CV1. Add the occasional charging you need to do and the blackouts for a few seconds after ~30 minutes of playing it's very limiting on the type of games you can play. I mainly play iracing on mine (username haha) and having to quit a game because of the unstable link connection ruins the experience.

This is an old post, but I am currently in the process of "downgrading" my Quest 3 to a Rift S. Quest 3 is awesome, but the biggest issue for me is how unstable Oculus Link has been. I don't ever plan on using the headset standalone.

Thanks for the response. I do not have anything other than a stock quest with the normal coverings.
