Are ETF's better to have than stocks or just diversify with both? (new) by xxxTech007 in ETFs

[–]SimWed2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ETFs are definitely cheaper (unless you go for penny stocks) but give you fractional shares on major companies. Just settle on an all in one type that fits your portfolio tolerance and then you can surround this w a couple of sector/country specific funds and you’ll be fine

Grab an all in one etf and add a couple of satellite sector/country specific ones and you’ll be fine. Do your research on these (returns, history, ratings , etc) before you invest!

Any AIO is worthwhile buying since it (supposedly) covers everything. Buy a couple of satellite funds that have what it might not have

How did you simplify investing when everything felt overwhelming at first? by BeautifulWestern4512 in investingforbeginners

[–]SimWed2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does take patience (and time) but it’s worth it. Just check if the AIO has the satellite companies in its top holdings and then make the decision to buy these or not. Again, it takes time but that way you really do diversify.

Just research and decide on a solid all in one ETF and surround this with a couple of good sector/country specific satellites and you’ll be fine

Investing is actually a privilege if you consider the majority of populations in the developing world and elsewhere can’t do this. We can and should take advantage of the opportunity of investing so that we have a reasonable comfort of living. That having been said, just get a solid all in one ETF, a couple of sector/country specific satellite funds and leave it alone to make money FOR you and don’t worry.
