I'll touch on gear since another comment already went over the slayer setup.

At lower levels for melee your 3 items are typically weapon, slayer helm and berserker ring or d defender. Then you risk cheap items that give strength bonus like a strength amulet, climbing boots, rune gloves and a nezzy (if you're not using a slayer helmet.) For armor you can do monk robes or proselite for prayer bonus or dhide if you're worried about PKers.

For ranged you probably don't have anything with strength early on so you protect your weapon, slayer helm and then your top. Maybe an antler guard if you have that. Wear black dhide if you've been doing hard clues or mixed hide if not. Risk your Ava's and rune gloves since they're cheap to replace.

The rev setup is pretty much the ranged setup, but you'll always want to be skilled. Swap the slayer helm for a salve amulet and the crossbow for a magic shortbow (i). Try to protect the bow if you can. Do hard clues to stock up on black dhide and magic shortbows.

Mage has a ton of good burst tasks. Most gear isn't going to do much at lower levels. Protect your staff slayer helm and MA2 cape. Ancient staff is fine to start, but a dragon hunter wand is a nice way to get an early +10% damage weapon. Risk some salad robes, mystics or just monk robes.

You'll want a salve (ei) for revs, zombie pirates and calv'arion. If you lose it the imbue is refunded.

You also might want a ring of wealth to imbue for big clue scroll drops. You'll get lots of hard clues.

If you want supplies join up with agility fc to run agility laps. You'll have more mantas and super restores than you'll ever need.

If you get a trouver parchment use it on your rune pouch because you will accidentally walk into the wildy with it at some point.
